Fuente Anejo Shark #77 Review

Went to a nice barbeque this past weekend. I figured that I would take a good cigar with me something different. I rumaged through my singles draw and there it was. The Anejo shark staring me in the face. I picked it up grabbed my lighter and left.

Get to the barbeque and grab a Corona Beer with a lime. AHH. Time to sit and do you know what.

I take the Anejo out of its cello sleeve, remove the red band on the bottom and proceed to cut that bad boy with my Xikar cutter.

The looks of this cigar, just so nice and dark, very few viens and heavy feeling. The wrapper is so god looking. I proceed to light this cigar. Not an easy light but managed to get it lit in the outdoors. Wow. That first hit of smoke was unbelievable. The taste was so sssmmmmoooothhh. This cigar produced some great smoke and just burned perfectly. The ash was such a solid greyish white and solid. This would not fall for anything, solid. About 1/2 way through this cigar started to realy kick in. The taste was an overwhelming coffee taste with a strong expresso but smooth not harsh or hot. As I sat there and had my Corona and Anejo this cigar just made the day great. The last 1/2 was just as good as the beginning, middle and the end. There was never an uneven burn, there was never any harshness or bitter taste. This is definately one of the great ones.

I can see why this is such a sought after cigar along with its other Anejo brothers. I am just glad that I have more stashed away

I am a big AF fan but this one is by far the best they have to offer. Last year I got lucky and bought a box. I only have 6 left. I hope Santa can get me another box this year.

Re: Fuente Anejo Shark #77

Wow! What a cigar! I'm not even much of an AF fan.

I just finished this cigar and must say, it lives up to the hype.
Like everyone mentions, the construction is perfect and very nicely packed. The draw was perfect as well. From the beginning, the taste was great with hints of raisins and a woody finish.... but after the first inch, BAM! Without any notice, the flavor changed immediately to some very complex flavors I can't even describe. Maybe coffee, leather, and 10 others all together??? I saw pictures of how long and solid this ash could hold, but did not want to try it and just enjoyed it. After 1/2 way, BAM! Another flavor change. Similar to the first change, but more intense and rich. Lots of smoke came out. This flavor lingered in and out... I think it changed all the way through. Good aftertaste even now. I usually use some mouthwash after every cigar but no need with this one. Only bad thing that occurred was my allergies started to kick in and I couldn't nub it.

All I can say is, I'm glad I have some more left in addition to the other Anejos in the line.

Re: Fuente Anejo Shark #77

I've had two of these, and they were both amazing. One of the best. I know they start to show up in shops around the holidays. When I bought mine last year it was about two weeks before Christmas and there were 8 left. Might have to treat myself again in a few weeks, wish they were a bit cheaper. Thanks for the review.

Re: Fuente Anejo Shark #77

I have only tried one Aejo. It was definitely a good stick, but they seem overpriced. Though, my wife would say I'm overpriced. Anyway, I like Camacho's for a big smoke. I'll probably have to give the Fuente's another try, or three.

Good description on your post.

The threads today prompted a rare visit to the light. Been over a year since I smoked one of these.

We fired a couple up on the way to and from lunch. The coolest shape in cigars hands down. Uniquely flavored and an enjoyable smoke.

The problem comes down to value. At $ 20 a pop or so there are a whole bunch of "other cigars" that I will smoke. That being said, everyone should smoke this at least once. One of the benchmark NC cigars.

Re: Fuente Anejo Shark #77

Holy crap, you pay $20.00 a cigar for these ??

That a lot of dough. They are not worth that much. I agree, there are plenty of other cigars I would rather smoke for $20.00.
