Gurkha Beast Review

Wow!!! what a smoke

I would love to give a review, but I'm not so good at that stuff. All I can say is the guy at the bar who gifted it is my new hero. I retrurned the favor with a Punch Royal Coronation, but it pales in comparison. I also gifted a Punch Grand Puro to a noobier guy than I. I need to work with him on how to smoke a gar, he was hitting like a cigarette, but I was too wrapped into the Beast early on to watch him.

As my first maduro smoke, I may be spoiled to any others. It was almost a 2 hr smoke accompanied with a Evan Williams 10 yr old Single Barrel and a glass of water. For those that care about the ash, it easily held for an inch to 2 inches and was still firm when i knocked it off. My only real complaint was it did not burn even. It self corrected a few times but I still had to clean it up twice. The smoke was enjoyed by the people at my local "Cheers" which is important to me, I don't like offending the other people at the bar. About half way between the puff and exhale there was a great flavor that popped on the tounge, can't place it but it worked for me.

The band was a bit difficult to get off and almost got burned, the heat did not help to loosen it. Eventually, I was able to slide it off. The band is a classy, good looking touch, definitly not an after thought as most bands tend to look. Not only a good tasing cigar to gift or pass on, but one that looks as good as it smokes.

I have also smoked 2 other Gurkhas - the Gurkha Genhis Kahn. Wow, a very complex set of taste and flavors, also another gift and an Expidition I bought. Of the lines of cigars that I have smoked, Gurkha is by far the best, both in looks and taste. Smoking them as a regular will never happen on my budget. But as the wife said, maybe Santee Claus will bring one.

I've liked the Gurkha's that I've had so far. Most others don't though... good for me, they gift them just to get rid of them!

Re: Gurkha Beast

Yeah I have been wanting to try a Beast, but all others I have tried where great. I believe I have tried all the Gurkha's that come in Perfectos, and I have a 5'er of Nepalse Warriors aging right now (cannot wait to try them).

hehe, screw the aging. At the price the B&M charges they damn well better be ready. I picked up a Master Select (about the only one I can afford) about a Robosto size and a BEAST - (not telling the wife). They wont last long!!!

Re: Gurkha Beast

The Beast is a good smoke! Try the Class Regent/Nepalese Warrior line also. I think you'll like them.

You need to find cbid, my friend. Gurkha's are actually affordably priced.

Nice review. I am not a fan of large rg cigars but it sounds very good. Try the new Black Dragon when you get a chance.

I just signed up and your correct. It does look as if they my be more affordable than I thought. Amazing what the price diff is between a B&M and cigarbid.
