Blender's Gold??

Anybody ever have a Blender's Gold cigar??? My buddies and I we get them as coronas and maduro robustos (I like the robustos) But i cant find anything about them online. They're cheap but very very good for the price. I was just wondering if this was A.)a newer brand B.) a small brand or somethin else, because i couldn't find anything about them online.

if they are $hit, please let me know.

Re: Blender's Gold??

I believe they are a private label cigar made for Walgreen's, which would explain the lack of info. They ain't bad smokes though, especially for the price.

Re: Blender's Gold??

Well forget I said that. Anyways theyre a very good smoke for the price (about 2.00 apiece), but what do you mean by a Private Label???

Re: Blender's Gold??

Private label just means that they are made for (and only sold at) Walgreens. I haven't tried these either, but I may have to run down the street and pick one up! Oh yeah...WELCOME!

Thanks, its good to be here.

So a Private Label is like off-brand cereal??? Both products come from the same place but just get different Labels???

Let me know if you try one

I don't know that it would be the same as any other cigar, but they are made for Walgreens.

A friend of mine from work smokes them. He said that they are not bad for an inexpensive cigar. But, then again, he's not too picky.

Re: Blender's Gold??

well then it sounds like someone should write up a review.

I'm by no means an afficianado, but if noone else wants to run up to walgreen's and try one of these puppies then i could try posting one.

Re: Blender's Gold??

Yeah I agree with your review on the hondurans in the tubes but I'm not sure why you didnt post the link sooner???

I had a toro sitting since like Mid-November and I smoked it last night. I couldn't beleive how the flavors developed! It started mild and slightly spicy like normal but then about 1/3 into this thing i was pleasantly surprised by a nice spicy leathery tase that was much stronger than normal, almost overpowering but just enough. I'm no afficianado so i dont know "cigar flavors" but I've had some variety of cigars and this was nice. Let one of these puppies sit in your humi for a month or 2 before hand and you'll swear it costs 5 or 6 times what it did.

But still, pound for pound as far as cheap ones go, i like the BG Honduran Maduro Robustos, 16.49 for 10. Good smoke, atleast for me if I just want to have a cigar, but for any kind of special occasion, these are put aside, of course.

I've tried them. They are ok. I have a friend who really likes them But for $2, there are several bundle cigars that suit my tastes better.

My main bundle smoke is Punch / Hoyo seconds at about $1.50 each. The BG that I smoked were inconsistant. One would smoke good and the next would be a challenge. I am also in the catgory of not being toooo picky.

I work there, and happened to pick some up the other day. If you do decide to try them, check out all 10 or so sizes. Each are made in either Nic, Honduras, or DR, and each will have that info on the front of the package. Other than that, they look similar except for the nat or mad wrapper.

I myself went for the Nic Robusto Maduro, and will let them sit for a few weeks (at least) before I try one out. I don't think but one package gets above $2/stick, and that's the monster viajante. The singles (in Ohio) go for $2.79 (and are from Honduras, I believe). I hope that they are worth it, and they haven't dried out after sitting a spell on the shelf.

If anyone wants to try one, let me know and maybe I can work something out.

Too bad about the BG. I hope my Nic batch is a bit better. On the other hand I will agree, the Hoyo 2nds I get at the local B&M are a killer deal. $1.50 for a decent short smoke, have to pick a few up every visit!

Re: Blender's Gold??

My BM carries several sizes from coronas up in both natural and maduro. They are pretty good sellers, Which is good, because they are usually fresh.
