San Cristobal Guajiro Review

Size: 6 5/8 x 46
Shape: Lonsdale
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Binder: Nicaragua

This is one great looking cigar. Very dark cigar that looks like premium.

The construction on this cigar is good. I had a nice slow cool burn but the draw was a bit tight for me.
The flavor was a straight forward tasting smoke. There were some nice tones of dark wood with burnt chocolate but I would not consider this to be complex. This was a smooth smoke but 1/4 had some chalky parts to it.
The balance on this cigar is good but not great.
I am being very picky here but here is a cigar from Ashton made by Don Pepin I am expecting perfection and I think this fell a bit short.

I give this smoke a 8 out of 10
If this smoke mellows out with some age and gets that balance it could be a 9out of 10.

I have a box so I will some one each month and see if they become awesome

Re: San Cristobal Guajiro

Great review - I like the fact that you took a very finicky approach to it. Give them a little resting time and revisit them - see if it helps the cigar along. I've heard nothing but stuff about them and I've always liked the ones I've smoked!

Re: San Cristobal Guajiro

The Guajiro is my favorite in the San Cristobal line. The Supremo (the toro) is my second favorite. The Maestro (the big figurado) is my least favorite I think it losses something in that size and shape.

Then again what do I know.
