Fonseca 5-50 Review
First off, i don't know anything about cigars yet and i'm still going through tasting all of them. If anyone has smoked this one before and can let me know what they thought, thatd be great.
This is a cigar from the Dominican Republic and it's a mild one. I drank some arizona green ice tea with this cigar. I believe the wrapper is a connecticut type wrapper and has a very earthy/humidor smell to it. It had very smalls veins throughout and a few larger ones. After lighting it, it had an extremely even burn, especially considering i didnt light it very well. The taste however, was kind of boring and i couldn't get any other hints besides the majority earth type taste. The aroma had a little bit of spice to it and tickled my nose and it smelled like the inside of a humidor. I was kind of dissapointed in the taste and it got boring, luckily the day was nice and i chilled outside with it for 3/4 of it, then threw it out. Honestly, If i had a choice i probably wouldn't smoke another one. I'd rate it about a 5 or 6 out of 10. Again, I have very little experience with cigars, so it wouldn't surprise me if i couldn't get all of the flavors. THANKS |

Re: Fonseca 5-50
Nice review. Ive been thinking about trying the NC Fonseca's but your review seems to match some of the other ones ive read, just a "boring" cigar with not a lot of flavor profile. Will put it on my "maybe" list.

okay good haha. i was afraid i was way off the mark. I forgot to mention that for the price you should try it, the earth tones are pretty cool but thats about it.

Re: Fonseca 5-50
I think you hit it on the head. Very mild. Not bad, but very very mild. Good in the morning before you eat anything kind of mild.
Thanks for the review! |

Re: Fonseca 5-50
Hopefully you did not get too turned off by the Fonseca brand. If you get a chance, try the Vegas de Fonseca. They were very good IMO.

Re: Fonseca 5-50
That's one of the great things about being new to cigars: you don't know what you like until you really try a few different cigars. Keep looking for that flavor you like and stick with it. But keep yourself open to new material. I have been smoking for less than 2 years and have gone through a procession of favorites. I figure you will have a lot more tasting to do.
