Noob Adoption Review #2 Feb. 08'

This is my second review for Feb. 2008.

Today I chose to smoke a Mayorga "robusto torpedo" at least that is how I would describe it. I don't know much about these cigars, but the wrapper immediately caught my eye.

The wrapper was a beautiful golden brown color that looked good enough to eat. I cut the torpedo shaped end and gave it a good pre-light draw. I noticed a slight sweet taste with not much bite. The foot toasted easily and off I went on a wonderful one hour smoke. The burn stayed consistent without any problems. The ash was white with a few black spots peppered throughout, and it remained for approx. 1 inch until finally falling off. As for the taste, the only way I can describe it was "vanilla" but not meaning bland. This cigar was anything but bland for me. The mellow vanilla taste remained until it developed into a mild caramel flavor about 2/3's into the smoke. I finally let it die out with only a nub remaining.

Overall, I give this cigar a 8.5 out of 10. Very good smoke!

Thanks to MarkinCA for this great cigar!

Excellent review Blues Tiger. The Mayorga Gordito is a solid little go to cigar. Great taste, flavor, aroma, and smoke. Considering the great taste of these little sticks, the box is very reasonably priced. In response to your PM, I had picked up a fiver at JR's who has a really decent price on the fiver and box. I'm picking up a box as soon as the humi has some occupancy.

BTW, your March 2008 package goes out tomorrow and I think this months selection will be right up your alley. See you then...
