Cusano C10 Review

Well, I havn't smoke a cigar since the honeymoon so I figured durring my 1 and a half car ride from one stop on my sales route to the other I would try a stick from a sampler I just won on the devil site. The Cusano C10 "10th Anniversary Crown Corona" is a tiny little stick and it smelled great but to the touch if felt very loosly packed. I cut the end and noticed a bit of a tear and some loose tobacco, no big deal. Then I lit it and took a draw... Lots of little bits of tobaco all entered my mouth at once, after a few seconds of spitting and to more puffs to clear it out I stoped getting tobaco in my mouth. I have to say I didn't notice much flavor at first but as I got a few more puffs into it I really started not to like this cigar. I only finished about half of it before pitching it. It started spicy but left a bad after taste and the draw was too easy. For the time I had it lit it burned very even, decpite the fact that I was driving 55 and had the windows down. Maybe I just got a bad stick but I did not like this cigar at all. I have to rank this as the worst cigar I've had yet.

I think you must've lit up a bad one. I've smoked many of these, and found them to quite delicious, and very firmly packed-with a nice draw.
I've bought several of these, and have never had one as you described.

They have received many accolades around here as well as other places. So much so, that by popular demand, they introduced a robusto-sized counterpart to the corona a few months ago.

I'd seriously consider giving another one a try.

Here is the apparent downside to there being such a wide variety of cigars available. If one gets a "bad" cigar, one is very unlikely to give it another shot when you could move on to the next on your list of sticks to try.

Well I got a fiver from Cbid, and I didn't like the first one. Not much taste, pretty bland. But I did smoke the other four, and my opinion never changed.

Re: Cusano C10

I must admit that the ones I've smoked had been sitting in my humi for a few months prior to firing them up. Maybe that's the key.

Re: Cusano C10

I'll have to see about getting a few more and letting them sit a bit in the humidor. I kind of figured it was a bad one after looking at some reviews online. Plus that was the first time I've ever had loose tobacco come out durring the first and second draw. Before I lit it, it smelled great, even my wife commented on how good it smelled. I'll try another and see how it goes.

I must say I agree. Not a big fan of Cusano stuff but the C10 is a real nice cigar for the price

Re: Cusano C10

In my experience this is a pretty good stick-not spectacular enough to want a box, but pretty decent. I was told it has a taste similar to a Monte 4 which I dont believe to be true. I much prefer the 18 yrs maduro to this stick.

Only a cigar lovin' crowd could possibly have this reaction:

Ape #1: I tried this cigar, and it was prolly the foulest thing that I've ever put in my mouth!

Ape Onlookers: Well maybe you should buy several more of them and put them in a special box and let them get old... maybe they'll be more gooder then!

Ape #1: Hey! Good idea!

I love it here...

Re: Cusano C10

There was another thread that I don't see at the moment where I posted that I had tried a C10 before - and that it was kind of so-so.

Anyway - found two of these in one of my boxes - been there since at least early May. Fired one of them up late last night - and am smoking the second one right now.

Looks to be that some humi time does these things good. Both fired up easy and the burn is very good. Flavor is there. A slight creamy, all-spice flavor. Last nights smoke never changed - stayed steadfast all the way through - and todays smoke is no different - just good steady flavor. It is a mild and very smooth smoke that I am rather enjoying - leaves a nice after taste in the mouth.
Had the first one been similar to either of these - I would have remembered it.

At this point I would put these on my to buy again list and remember to ignore them for a few months time.

I agree. I just finished one from a box that had been in my cooler for over a year. What a nice smoke it was. This box hadn't been touched since I got it and I don't think the other 9 of these will last long. It is very apparent that this cigar ages well. I have heard the comparisons to the Monte #4 and I don't know if I agree with that, however, it isn't quite like any NC I have smoked either. I found it to be on the mild side of medium with just enough spice to give it some complexity.

If you are looking for a good short smoke to put away for a while and enjoy later, this one is highly recommended.
