Noob Adoption reviews Mar. 2008
So here's the entire package from ConchRepublic:
![]() 5 very nice looking robustos- Don Tomas Special Edition Cruz Real conuco independencia robusto olor fuerte Tonight i got the chance to knock out the Olor Unfortunately, the camera died after the first pic... ![]() But anyways, here's the review on the Olor Fuerte Robusto: Wrapper:Talanga Cubano(not sure what that is) Filler: Dominican, Nic, and Dominican. L/R:5x50 Appearance-Nice and dark, not quite a maduro but it was a very deep brown. Very solid and slightly Veiny, overall good appearance Pre-lit-Not too loose, not too tight, right in the middle at the point where i couldnt call it loose or tight. Great pre-lit flavor very deep and spicy taste. I could tell this was gonna be full bodied. 1st 1/3-Didnt get a whole lot of flavor throughout the first inch or so, but then it hit, very creamy and zesty probably overpowering if i hadnt eaten or if it was one of my first cigars. 2nd 1/3-Same flavors, creamy with a nice subtle spice that just sat on my tongue, perfect balance. final 1/3-Nothing new here, very consistent throughout. I got alittle bit of chocolate in the last 2 inces or so. Overall: This thing burned very evenly, i never had to fix it up in fact it didnt even have to self-correct. It was very consistent, something that i look for in a cigar. I was able to enjoy the subtle spice and creaminess in this, it didnt jump around flavor-wise like alot of other smokes, so i was able to savor and really enjoy the flavor that it had. I would definately recommend this cigar to anyone with a few months of steady smoking under their belt. Anyone who is used to cigars can really appreciate the flavors in it, but to a rook it coud be overpowering, and i would definately buy these, but at 5.60 ea. i can think of some other smokes i'd rather have. Great review Dom. Good to see the monthly Noob Adoption reviews for March starting to flow in.
"Famous" indicates a medium to full body stogie, dark natural Honduran Talanga Cubano Wrapper, Dom/Nic/Brazil filler, and a Mexican San Andreas Binder. Of interest in February 2008, "Famous" had them selling 2 boxes for the price of 1 at $89.99 (thats 50 cigars at $1.80 each). Maybe they will run a 2fer deal sometime in the future...

Re: Noob Adoption reviews Mar. 2008
Thanks alot Conch for the feedback and for the smokes.
Markin, i looked at famous too and they were selling singles for 5.60, so that's what i was going on. Looking right now, i see the price for a box is 90, which is 3.60 ea. I guess that the 2 for 90 is over. If anyone sees that deal, let me know i'll go partners. I strongly suggest to anyone who likes a strong smoke to jump on that offer. This is one hell of a cigar for 1.80 ea. Last edited by Dom; 03-27-2008 at 11:59 PM.. |
