Fonseca Habana Selección - Second Review

I bought these because I have smoked some other Fonsecas and I though for the price they would make a nice project cigar.

Size, Invictos 6.0" x 50
Appearance, a nice brown Nicaraguan-grown, Habana Criollo ’98
Binder, Cuban-seed Nicaraguan
Filler, Cuban-seed Dominican Seco & Ligero

Aroma, a little earthy, but nothing really jumped out at me
The draw was good and stayed that way
I had a tough time getting it to light evenly

This cigar started off with a rough almost bitter taste for the first 1/2 inch. I put it down for a few minutes and then it mellowed and was a little peppery with good smoke.

At about halfway through, the taste picked up a little, but lacked any complexity.

For the last two inches, I kept putting it down to work on the BBQ grill and it kept going out. I pretty much gave up on it.

For a $2 cigar it was okay, but it just didn't have enough taste and complexity to suit me.

I had a fiver of the Robusto of these about a year ago and I thought it was pretty good for the price. This is the tissue paper wrapped smoke correct?

Mine are not wrapped in tissue, got them from CI as the Joe's deal of the day awhile back.

The ones of these I've had were wrapped in tissue paper. Not a bad smoke, earth and pepper, not much change in flavor throughout.
