Nub Cameroon torp review

Nub Cameroon torp
 • Toothy and veiny wrapper. With a perfect draw. This thing is short; it’s no joke about it being a little nub. Pre light taste and smell is pleasant.

 • Lighting this cigar seemed rather easy for some reason. Lit up nice and even. On the first draw I notice lot of woody notes. This is not a dry tasting Cameroon like most I have had.

 • It’s starting to burn uneven but wants to fix itself. To my surprise this is a good cigar so far. I went into this not expecting any thing, almost not wanting to like it. But this is a good smelling and tasting cigar. Getting sweetness out of it with some a nutty flavor.

 • Burn has fixed its self, not even .75 of an inch in to it yet. Been smoking for close to 20mins. Fairly complex cigar. I think the whole nub concept is a lot of hype, but its still a well made cigar with good flavor.

 • I could of kept the ash on thing for a while but for the sake of the review I had to knock it off. Other wise I would have been paying attention to the ash and not the review. I am smoking with a sprite soda, and I have been drinking a little bit with is because it is making me a tad thirsty. I have snorked (nose exhaling and smoking) a few times thought this review to get more flavored. The few times I have done it was pleasant to snork it. Except this far into the cigar it hurt me nose. And was uncomfortable to do.

 • Lots of bitterness now, yet to purge it. Time to purge it. Much better. This cigar is on its last leg now with about an inch left. So far I am about a 1 hour and 20 minuets in to the cigar. For $5.50 I paid for it, it’s a good smoke. Not to short or long.

i had to put a pic like this in it. yep they will stand up on there own.

Great review, Rob. The pictures help us understand how unusual this concept is and many I'm sure were prepared not to like it. Although your hype comment is quite telling it was a fair and balanced take on this cigar. The last photo of the Nub standing on its ash is a classic. Thanks for sharing!

I have to try one, curiosity is getting the best of me. I think I'll have to go wwith the Torpedo as well since I'm not comfortable smoking 60 gauges.

Re: Nub Cameroon torp review

Nice review. I have one in the humi I might fire up this weekend, but I do not like Cameroon wraps, save Short Stories. I am hoping this one gives me a better taste than other Cammie's I've had!

Beautiful pics and review. The cammie is the only one I haven't had yet, but I have a box on the way

Another nice NUB review!!! Thanks so much Rob!!!

Do you think the way it is packed or the RG has something to do with why they burn as long as they do?

Re: Nub Cameroon torp review

Smoked one of these awhile back and I must say was less than impressed with it.

The one I smoked had none of the flavors described and were actually quite harsh and unpleasant. No woody or earthy flavors for me, just harsh one dimensional tobacco flavor.

I will probably give these another shot sometime in the future but I have to say I wouldn't buy any for my own collection.

Re: Nub Cameroon torp review

I hate to be the nay-sayer on these since they are being praised by a few other members..... however, IMO I find these smokes to be little more than an attempt to distract serious cigar smokers into going with they hype.

I wasn't a skeptic when I tried them or had a negative opinion of them... they just weren't good smokes.
