Zino platinum crown series barrel Review

Zino platinum crown series barrel

1 this cigar has well over a year on it. Its has a smooth wrapper wit some veins in it. The cigar is about 7x60. Big old jaw breaker. When smelling the foot of the cigar there is not too much there, just a hint of spice. Seems like it will be a mild smoke. The predraw is real smooth and not to loose. I do prefer a slightly tighter draw.

2. Lighting it up- the first thing u notice about this cigar is how smooth it is. Tons of flavors. It’s not earthy or woody. But a nice smooth creamy flavor. The burn on it is just off by a little, that’s probley, my fault for lighting it with a one torch lighter.
3. The burn is slowly fixing itself. This cigar is very creamy flavored. Hints of coco when ever you snork it (kind of an exhale through the nose). This cigar keeps me wanting more. I feel like I am going to suck this cigar down its taste so good there is not a drop of harshness to this cigar.

4. Almost half way through it and the burn is still getting better. I don’t want to have to fix it. Even if it’s just a little touch up. As this stick gets shorter I fell it getting stronger but it’s still pretty mild. The flyover is coming through a lot now. As I want more of the cigar the slight change in the flavor is satisfying me. So far I have ashed it once.

5. Coco is starting to show now and more cream now just pass the half way mark. No pepper or spice at all. After licking my lips to taste any residue left from the cigar there is no bitter or sour taste. I have been at this cigar for one hour now. I am not even looking for my drink this zino is so smooth.
6. No purge on this cigar yet. I want to but I don’t think it needs it. It’s not as creamy.

7 I just purged it, it taste just like I lit up a new cigar. Just a real small flame came off the end, like a puff. Real mild little flavor. It is getting better the clean taste is coming back. it’s a little stronger now.

8. The burn is much better now, still no relight it. Hints of earth and pepper are coming through. Just a little cream. Its turning it to a big boy cigar now with tons of tobacco flavored. Just the right taste to finish this cigar off with. What started as me wanting more the hole way though is now really satisfying my pallet. This cigar was good. I could not ask for more from it. It did not keep me thirsty and I did not want to put it down at all.

Fantastic review. I have been waffling on whether or not to pick up some of these (although not this size) because the prices are usually pretty steep. Thanks!

Re: Zino platinum crown series barrel

The Zino Platinum Crown Series is the best Davidoff line in my the opinion...I have smoked many of the Double Grande. I do, however, prefer the 2007 LE more. The Criollo seed wrapper makes the stick a lot spicier...I am glad you enjoyed it and wonderful pictures!

Stellar review, Rob. Very insightful and coupled with excellent photography. Well done! And the band is seriously wicked on the cigar.

Great review. I love this line, specifically the chubby especial's. If I could afford to smoke these daily I would.

Thanks for the review.
I am a huge Platinum fan yet have not had the good fortune to try one of these guys yet. I like the bigger RG's so that's the one I'm going to hunt down.
S^&T, now I want one, bad!

Thanks again,
Al

Very interesting review - I want to try it now.

Question - in pic. #5 the narrow band is no longer on, and in pic. #7 it re-appears. What happened??? Best, Larry.

i see that, i put this up so late at night. i guess i was a little to sleepy to be doing the post. the review was done the other day and i just put it up. you get the idea, for a 30$ stick the burn was not the best but it was a real good stick. just over priced.

Top,

Just to let folks know that at the Davidoff shop at the Venetian in Vegas, they are running a special. Buy two crown tubos, get one non-tubo crown, free. It brings the price down to under 20 bucks a piece.
