5 Vegas Series 'A' Apex Review

This wonderful cigar is 6"x48", box-pressed, and beautiful. Although not a super-premium by any means, this stogie is well worth the $ I paid for it (5-er on Cbid for $7). I have smoked plenty of these (this was my 12th one I believe) and felt like reviewing one.

Started with a strong bite, maybe I scorched the foot a little. 1st quarter inch, smoothed down and tasted that good, Maduro wrapper. Slight hint of a RP Vintage 92 and similar also to CAO Brazilia in taste (although this cigar is no competition for either as it still has a little bitterness along with the wonderful sweetness).

Construction on this stick was pretty good in appearance, yet it wouldn't hold an ash of over 3/4 inch. I liked this smoke but I couldn't nub it. I sat outside for 1 3/4 hours and finally I had to go inside (bedtime, gotta get up and teach tomorrow).

Great smoke and I recommend this smoke to anyone who is looking for a cheaper yet flavorful smoke. This is my second review here. Any advice on reviews welcome.

The 5 Vegas 'A' line is quite good overall - I often forget how tasty they are until I light one up & it's love all over again...

Re: 5 Vegas Series 'A' Apex

I have tried 2 of these and didn't care for them. I have 2 more that are resting, I'm not gonna completely write them off yet. Does anyone know if some age helps these sticks?

Yes, the woodiness mellows out after 6-9 months,
improving the overall flavor mix.

Good deal. I have the Toro size and it was just too harsh for me. But I hardly ever hear any negatives about the Cinco Vegas. Hopefully some rest will improve them. Can't beat em for the price if you enjoy them.

Re: 5 Vegas Series 'A' Apex

An awesome smoke! I have bundles from so many months I lose count. 5'ers don't cut it. Bundle up kiddies!

This is the only one I smoke of the "A" line, IMO it is FAR above the other A's. A great smoke, regardless of price.

I agree, all the As are smokeable but this is the best.

The box-pressed Apex is the best of the A line (in my humble opinion).

Never had that one. Only the Toro. This one looks better because the Toro looks like it is painted it is so dark.

Possible, but I didn't see any evidence of any painting in the Apex's that I smoked. No black/brown stuck to my lips. For the price I paid, I would'nt put it past % Vegas, but I still love this smoke regardless.

Re: 5 Vegas Series 'A' Apex

Thanks for the review.

Just got another 20 of these and have found they are almost always too wet of the truck.
A month or so rest and they are just plain yummy, smoking one right now

Still a bit wet for me so another week or so and they will be fine.
