They don't seem to have much flavor, and they don't burn all that well. They just want to burn down the center and needs to be re-lit often. I've only smoked three, so I'll give it more time, but gosh, I thought they'd be better. I've smoked enough cigars to know that they're never perfect 100% of the time, so I won't pass judgment until all 20 are gone. Maybe another box too. What do you think? Bad batch? Oh, this is a terrific forum!

Larry...smoking for ten years and still not finished.

Hey buddy, First off I'm going to say welcome to Club Stogie. This is a great place and there is SO much to be learned here. Since you have been smoking for 10 years I suppose that we will have a lot to learn from you too! I was suprised that you haven't got any replies yet so I'm going to take time to help out a lil bit. Have you had an ERDM before? In the past 10 years if you've never smoked an el rey del mundo and blindly jumped into buying a box (buying a whole box because of a single point of view isn't nessessarily a bad thing but I would definately do some more research first on my income.)

You could simply not like the cigars or as my wife just suggested, they could just need a little age. I'm sure your very familiar with aging cigars but if your not there are some great posts around club stogie that explain it quite well.

I suppose it could all boil down to the concept of 'Different smokes for different folks..' but I would definatley suggest trying to smoke them with a little more age on them (maybe a year if not at least 6 months) and try smoking them under a different set and setting. What did you have to eat and drink before and during the smoke? This can greatly alter the overall experience of the smoke. I hate to 'Preach To the Choir' if you already know all this but I thought it would be better than to leave you hangin'.

I look forward to hearing more from and about you and getting into that head of yours and learning more about your past experiences as a smoker.

Have a fantastic evening and may your humidor always be overflowing!

Thank you all so much for the kind comments about my review, although I think that they are a little uncalled for or excessive b/c I dont regard this review as one of my best or even close.. its more of a "Stream of Consciousness" type dialog detailing what simply went through my head during the experience rather than the more poetic reviews that I have written in the past which I have put much more time, thought and effort in to creating.

but thanks for the encouragement. It really makes me want to review more often!

  • Robusto
  • Rothschilde
  • Petit Lonsdale
  • Rectangular

Dan we seem to have some shared taste buds! I love the ERDM stuff also, but the ISOM ERDM stuff isn't as good in my opinion.

Yes, this was my first box. I had them in my humidor for only one month. I couldn't wait any longer to try one. I'm happy tp report now that the last two I've smoked have been nothing short of superb! They are what I had hoped they would be. A very tasty smoke. As I said, I never draw any conclusions based on two or three cigars. I usually wait until I've tried at least thirty. Food prior to smoking has never been an issue as I light up at 8:30 every evening with a glass of scotch. I do like these cigars and my intent was not to hi-jack your review with a negative response. I was just a bit disappointed with the first couple, but not anymore.
