San Cristobal Maestro Review
San Cristobal Maestro 6 X 60
Nicaraguan wrapper appears more on the dry side than the oily side. The flavor was rich and full-bodied, but did not exhibit a perfect balance between strength and complexity as Ashton claims. It just wasn’t that complex… unless you consider earth, wood, pepper and walnut complex. To me that’s just pretty standard; I can get that in a cigar at half this price. There was not much change in flavor throughout. A little more pepper showed up midway. Earth and wood were there. I could maybe detect a hint of walnut but no espresso or dark chocolate. ![]() ![]() I enjoyed this cigar. The flavor was good. Some of this is just a matter of taste but I like a creamier sweeter taste and a smoother feel in a dark wrapper like this. Cigar was well constructed and finished with a traditional Cuban Triple-Cap.

Re: San Cristobal Maestro
Good review
I enjoy San Christobals almost once a week, and I can't get over how good the robusto is.

Re: San Cristobal Maestro
Just tried one of these yesterday for the first time. I was actually surprised at the stick. I really liked it. First pre-light draw there was alot of spice but it mellowed almost immediatley after lighting it up. After that first draw I was expecting a slightly fuller bodied stick but it ended up being a great mild smoke with that spiciness popping back in from time to time. Only thing that seemed weird to me (not necessarily bad) was that it took forever to smoke. It seems like anytime I get a figuardo like these (Oliva V specifcally) they are extremely long smokes. I think I'm going to pick up a box of these maybe in a different vitola though. I would like it in a smaller size, I'm thinking for when I don't have close to two hours to smoke. Sorry for the hijack.
