Taboo Costa Rican Maduro Review
I just got my order in today from Taboo and normally would wait to post but this was such a great cigar that I thought I would let everyone know what a great smoke this is. I have another one resting in the humi and will hopefully get some pics the next time.
The first third of this cigar opens with a hint of spice and has some very light citrus/cedary hints. There was a mild sweetness to the initial part. The draw was medium, not to loose and I didn't feel like I was trying to suck peanut butter through a straw. Lots of smoke and the smell was great.
The second third settled into leather, earth, and a touch of cocoa tastes. Still got lots of smoke and the strength builds up a little.
The finally third was plenty of leather and earth/cocoa. It never got really hot and made it down to the nub. If I'd had a pipe, I probably would have finished it off all of the way.
It went from mild strength and built up to a medium-plus at the end.
This was a very impressive cigar for arriving today in the mail. The construction was solid and the ash held firm down past the half-way point. I've had several smokes that had rested a few days in the humi and still cracked or bulged and this did neither.
For me, this was a definite 10. I honestly wish I would have ordered more of these and will be making my credit card company very happy in the near future.
