Casa Royale Review

This cigar was gift from Rockyr at the SC sit down. Yo Rocko, thanks for the stick.

I had heard so many great reviews of this cigar from Tedrodgercpa I was worried about the cigar matching the expectations.

It looks like a nice beefy stick.

The head is triple capped.

And, the foot look well constructed.

The pre-light draw on the cigar tasted strong and musty.

The first third of the cigar revealed a very strong must mixed with wood taste. The must taste was a little different for my taste buds.

The second half of the cigar tasted better. the must abated a little, but still a strong woody taste.

The final third of the cigar picked up a little nicotine taste, better than the beginning.

The construction of the cigar was great, beautiful ashes and a great draw to the end.

The over all rating of the cigar was 7.4 out of 10. I felt the cigar tasted better an hour after I smoked it. I left a great after taste. However, the beginning and some of the middle did not mesh with my particular taste buds. I think you should try the cigar to see if it matches your tastes.

Rockyr, again, thank you for the stick...I enjoyed the experience.

Re: Casa Royale

Nice review!

I purchased a box of these bad boys a few weeks ago. I smoked one right off the truck, and it definitely needed some rest time. I mainly had burn issues but the taste was awesome! I didn't really catch any mustiness though.

Re: Casa Royale

Thanks for the review. I look to get some of these soon. I think the cigars will more than likely need a little rest. They just came out so I'm sure all the flucations of transit left the cigar a little green/musty.

Re: Casa Royale

Thanks for the review! I've been curious about these but I'm starting to become wary of Pepin's new blends. I mean, how can he really keep up? But, this smoke sounds like it has some real potential. Like with many Pepin blends, a little rest seems to help a lot.

Nice review, tw3nty... As you know, it's one of my favorite NC sticks in terms of flavor profile and, most importantly, price!

I always enjoy the review with pics! Thanks!

Not sure I've ever experienced a musty taste? Guess I'll have to try one to see what you mean.
