Hoja Boricua: a review of sorts.

This is one tasty stick! Excellent taste but I'm at a loss to state what it is, can't seem to identify it other than to say I'm lovin' it!

I got this stick from [SIZE=2]longknocker[/SIZE] and posted about it here. It's chilly and wet here today and I was just gonna enjoy the smoke, but when I pulled this thing from the wrapper, it felt almost sandy. Nothing spectacular about the appearance or construction. Just seemed like any well made cigar. But the prelight scent and draw taste was definitely different. Now the question is, how much age was on this baby? I'd love to get some of these, but if I have to sit on them for a year to get this taste, I don't know if I can do it...



If this is not plume, I doubt I'll ever see it... It was nearly covered in a fine white powdery substance that could be dusted off with light pressure and rubbing with a finger or thumb, but I tried to leave as much as possible undisturbed.


Sorry about the size of these shots, but I felt they were necessary to show the detail.




I'm probably about half way into it and I'm in a state of bliss... The burn is perfect, the ash is charcoal gray outside and light gray inside and holds to an inch or so.

So, go ahead, crush my dream. Tell me it's not plume, but I'd really like to know how much age is on this beauty?


I think this would be a cigar you would either love or hate. And I have not doubt how I feel about it...

I bought a box of 25 in March, '08. Just checked the rest of the Hojas and didn't see any plume on the smokes. I sent you the best one, Bro! Enjoy!
