This Morning, I Discovered a Most Excellent Cigar (Rocky Patel Edge Missile Corojo)

This morning, I decided to enjoy my coffee in the back yard with my dogs and a cigar. Since there was a fiver of Rocky Patel Edge Missile Corojos in my cooler that have been resting for a month or so, and I decided it was time to try one....

After clipping the cigar, I toasted the foot until it glowed. Then I took my first draw and was greeted with a mild earthiness that was very pleasant. The earthiness was the predominant flavor, and was just touched with a hint of sweetness. Just touched. So far I was impressed by the subtlety of the stick.

The second third built upon the first, with the creamy sweetness increasing, and just a tiny bit of spice swirling around my tongue. There was something more than the earthiness I mentioned earlier but I can't put a better name to it. All I can say is that I really liked it.

The final third was better yet, and I wish I could have smoked this cigar beyond the nub. I don't have words to describe the subtle complexity of the Edge Missile corojo, and I don't yet have the palate to distinguish everything I was getting from the cigar. I cannot convey, in words, how good this Rocky Patel smoked.

I'm glad I have four more, and now I'm considering a box.

Smoked one the other night and expected that I wouldn't like it as much as the Edge Maddy but I was pleasantly suprised.

Well, I've had a chance to smoke several of these now, and I have enjoyed most of them equally. The one I had after a dinner of hot wings tasted a little off but I think that was the wings.

I've smoked the others in the morning with my coffee and enjoyed every minute.

For me, that means I'm stocking up on the Edge missile corojo. Anybody know if they lose anything after spending months or longer in the coolerdor? I'm thinking about tossing a couple of boxes in there but not if they fade.

FWIW...check with Atlantic Cigars on 50 and 100 boxes of EDGE. They don't list the prices all the time so You will probably have to give them a call.

I just got a box of 25 on the devil site for a very reasonable price.

Now if I could just do the same on a box of OWR corojo torpedoes!
