No offense to the OP , but we did pretty different reviews. I wouldn't have posted to this thread with the kind of review I did.

Wow..you smoked that in 35 minutes?? I had a 4x60 that lasted about 1.5 hours with no problems with the wrapper at all. Maybe that caused the issues with the wrapper.

Yea, I am a fast smoker. That's one of the reasons I am not writing them off due to the wrapper problems.

If the wrapper wasn't totally jacked up at the end it probably would have gone another 10 or 15 minutes though.

Large changes in humidity can cause a cigar to expand or contract. When they happen too quickly or unevenly it can cause the wrapper to crack.

Cigars that have been dried out and then re humidified too quickly show this as swollen feet. The Nub has soo much material in it that they may be more susceptible / have this happen with less RH variation than other smaller RG cigars.

Smoking a cigar causes them to wick up humidity as they burn down. They can end up cracking or exploding particularly in humid summer months on cigars that may be over humidified to begin with.

Or it could be just poor construction / too thin a wrapper leaf that didn't make it when stretched to finish off the torp.

There seems to be many complaints regarding the wrapper splitting on these so it's more than just an environmental factor.

Re: NUB Habano something

I ordered a fiver of the Habano 466. Got it bout a week or so ago. Hoping that 65% will do these sticks good. Due to the ring gauge, I might let them set up to a month before trying one, not to mention the wrapper issues.
Does this sound like a good idea??

Re: NUB Habano something

Just found this thread. It was the Habano 460, and I pretty much agree with Joe. Not bad, but nothing spectacular, and too big around. Glad to give you the opportunity to try one though Joe.

I don't do pics. We all know what a f*@king cigar looks like when it's burning, good or bad. Why you would pics of me gnawing of a nub is beyond me Dale. I can think of better ways to waste bandwidth than "look guys the first 1/3, now the midway point, now the end!" Wheeeeeeeee! And there already a bagillion pics of those nubs floating around.

Anyways, thanks again Savvy, sorry it took me a bit to post the review, was on the road a bit! The hoyo was much better

Party pooper.
I do agree that multiple pics of the burning of the cigar are overkill. But I do enjoy the pics. Just not so many. (I know what a naked woman looks like but . . . . you get my point)
You are spot on that way too many pics of the Nub have been posted recently.

When it comes to my pet peeve regaring pictures, why, oh why, do folks insist on posting crappy, blurry cell phone pics? If it's a crappy pic, don't bother. On the other hand, the nice high quality pics posted by some are just beautiful.

Re: NUB Habano something

I smoked the Conny yesterday with my GF's dad. He had one of the other Habano.

This time around there were no problems with the wrapper on the Habano so I think it was a matter of resting them a bit (at least in my case).

The Conny was pretty tasty too.

But I still don't see myself getting too many more of these, I would prefer the same blend in a more traditional sized smoke.

Re: NUB Habano something

I had the Habano a couple days back. Unfortunately it started to crack after 1/3. Resting in my humi for 3-4 weeks didn't seem to help. It was such an awesome looking stick prior to the cracking. Enjoyed the flavors. I would definitely buy more of these if I could figure out how to prevent the cracking.

It seems to swell so much that the wrapper just starts to give way.

Re: NUB Habano something

Well, I picked up a Cameroon Torp the other day since the shop I was sitting in had them and I thought I'd give it a go. Chose this to take out and smoke while putting the wifes swing set together. It wasn't bad, I intentially picked the torp so I'd be able to hold the end in my mouth with jaw dislocation, burned OK and had a decent taste. I just don't think I'll spend another $7 for one.

I don't care much for Drew Estates and he is still in business so I'm sure the Nub people won't miss me. It seems there are a number of people who like their product so they should do well.
