RP Sun Grown Torpedo Review

Well I started my afternoon deciding to do some yardwork...by hand.
Boy I should have rented a tiller or sod cutter or something.
I'm in darn good shape but this whooped me.
So I decide why not fire up a sun grown since I'll be i the sun.

Smelled great, so I lay it down before I grab the Palio to cut.

Nipped the tip and tested the draw. Seemed a bit too easy, but I know I didn't cut too much off the head.
Pre-light I DEFINITELY tasted cocoa and coffee.

Toasted the foot with my trusty Porsche lighter thanks to the CS group buy.

I usually discount the first few puffs, but with this stick I didn't have to.
1st, 2nd, and even 3rd/3rd were just super consistent.
The draw tightened a bit after being lit and it was just Perfect.

Stayed lit even when neglected due to yard work. I finally needed a rest from the back breaking work of ripping up old grass and weeds to lay down new seed. Next time I am going to rent some equipment.

Sat back and enjoyed the rest of the smoke.

I believe I was bombed with this cigar and I only had 1.
My local B&M just started carrying them and I will DEFINITELY be purchasing more of these tasty sticks.

Nice review and pics. Good to know about these, reminded me I have a box of them hidden away in a humidor, from a year or two ago. Makes me want one now!

Great review, the RP Sungrown are a favorite of mine and are the first "real" cigar I ever had.

Can't go wrong with the RP Sun Growns, I am in need of some to restock my humidor.

Thanks for the review.

Re: RP Sun Grown Torpedo

I won a 5'er of these from cbid a few months back, and finally broke one out yesterday while consuming corona light and lime. Found it to be an EXCELLENT smoke, with some cocoa/citrus tinges to it. Def. an earthy smoke with some sweetness. I did not pick up any spice on mine, but it was the 3rd smoke of the evening, so subtleties may have been hard to pick up on, I couldn't tell.....

Re: RP Sun Grown Torpedo

The 2nds are great smokes too...down to my last 4 or so.

This cigar is too good to be wasted as a yard 'gar.
