Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
Size: 5.7" x 54 Tobacco: Honduran (Corojo wrapper) Price: $3.00 A thick cigar with a slow, slightly tight burn. Good draw, good construction. Medium-to-full body with a distinct burnt coffee flavor, hints of spice on the finish. Very little aftertaste. Recommended for warm nights when conversation with friends, not to mention single malt scotch, are flowing freely; this makes a very decent 2nd cigar, one of my favorite follow-ups to an RP Edge.

Thanks for the heads up-I enjoy corojo wrappers in general and the price seems right for a RP-I have not had this one yet.

Re: Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
Just had my first Orange Label last night. I would put it mild/medium. I really enjoyed this cigar's leather/coffee flavors. The burn was perfect and the smoke was deep and rich.

Re: Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
your tasting notes are exactly how I felt. I found them similiar in nature to the Omar Ortez Originals but more coffee notes instead. I really really liked the 2 I have smoked so far. Great medium bodied balanced rich smoke that goes well anytime.

Yeah, I like these. Had one at the beach a few days ago. Burned well, even in the wind. True RP taste.

Re: Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
Its been a few months since I've burned one, but as I remember, it was an a.avg smoke IMHO. Appeared to have some immediate spiciness that mellowed a bit till the end. Pepin aroma throughout the entire smoke and medium to full body in taste/strength. Good draw and burn. I had a slight crack issue in the wrapper near the 'band', but it was nothing to write home about. It was most likely due to my humi that was at a higher RH than it is kept at now. CI has a 5er of the Yellows for $25 and would be worth it to me to give them a try...

Re: Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
Thanks for the review... I haven't tried these yet and I like most RPs; I've tried the Legends Purple label (Graycliff). It wasn't anything like the Chateau Gran Cru (Graycliff Purple) or Crystal or Professionale in taste; a little bitter tasting. The draw was like sucking on a banana.

Re: Short Review: CI Legends by Rocky Patel (Orange Label)
Thanks for the heads up. I might give these a try. I have yet to try a Pepin cigar, I guess because they tend to be more expensive than I like. I do have a San Cristobal in the humidor that I'm saving for the opening weekend of college football season.
