Royal Jamaica Gold Corona...A Review (Pics)

This is the second one of these I have tried in the last week, so I decided it would be my first review.

I was sitting on my front patio, one of my favorties places in the world. It overlooks my favorite golf course since I was a kid. I was drinking a nice French Roast coffee. The weather here in Ohio today is about 70 degrees and overcast, perfect IMO. I was joined by my ole buddy Gunner, my boxer.

The cigar is a Royal Jamaica Gold Corona. I picked this guy up for $4.39 at my B&M, and can be had for less than 3 bucks a stick online.

Royal Jamaica Gold Corona
5.00 inches X 44 ring gauge
English Market Selection
Nicarauguan Wrapper & Binder
Jamaican/Nicaraguan/Honduran Filler

The appearance on this stick is a little rough, some dominant veins. The wrapper almost looks like a light Maduro.

The flavor on this stick is awesome. The best way I can describe it is milk chocolate, hints of nooget (my review, my flavors), just a sweet creamy mild-medium tobacco flavor all the way down. A hint of spice, but you barely notice it, very smooth. Has more sweet flavors than some Maduros and 10 dollar sticks I've had.

The burn was great on this cigar. After I lit this stick the first time the lighter never left the table again. The burn went slightly uneven 2 times and it quickly corrected itself.

With about 1 1/2 inches on this stick , it began to burn a little hot. I blame myself because I smoked it a little fast.

The Ash held firm to almost 2 inches before I tempted fate and it fell on me. The Ash was not flaky and a nice light color.

I thoroughly enjoyed this stick, once again, and I will be buying more to go with my morning coffee. I don't know if this stick would work for an evening cigar, not powerful enough, but IMO it is the perfect morning coffee cigar.

If you are a coffee drinker like me, and like a morning cigar, this is a must try.

What great start to the day.

What do you think about using it as a golf gar? For when you can't really pay a whole lot of attention to a stick. Or is it too complex for that?

Awesome review, thanks. I like milder cigars on occasion and this sounds like a good one.

I'd say for the price of this stick it's a great golf cigar. I like complex sticks when I'm golfin. When I golf I smoke an AF Double Chateau Maduro. You're gonna pay the same if not more for a non-complex golf cigar. So you might as well enjoy your golf-gar.

True. I think I'm gonna have to pick up a few of these. I was enjoying a 5 Vegas Miami on the course yesterday and then just got bombarded by rain and tornadoes lol.

How are the Miamis, but hear good things on here since they're a Pepin blend. What would you compare these to?

I personally love the Miamis. Very creamy smoke. A lot of standing smoke though but if your outside you don't notice it. Spicy. Alot of people say that it taste like pure cedar and while I do pick up some cedar its not the most prominent taste in the cigar. I pick up a lot of kind of light coffee tastes in it. And leather.

Honestly though I don't know if I could really compare it to another cigar. But if you like a slightly spicy yet smooth cigar you'll love the miami.
