CAO Criollo Review

Name: CAO Criollo; Country: Nicaragua; Size: 5.63 X 46; Date: 9/19/2005; Taste: 4.5; Finish: 4; Draw: 4.5; Burn: 4.5; Buzz: 4.5; Impression: 4.5; Ave: 4.41/5

Comments: Wow, quite the smoke. I was actually able to discern some of the chocolate taste and a little nutty taste as well. Easy draw without being overly hot, long smoke time and even burn, what else could you want? Excellent cigar.

If i may expound a little, this is a great cigar. Maybe its because i am over seas here, but it seems to me that they do not get much attention. This cigar is good enough to make a noob like me happy, and yet complex enough to make it enjoyable for even a seasoned Fogie. This was my second one (notice the date on the review) and i would say that it is even better than my first impression. For the price i do not think it can be beat. Any Noobs that are reading this, give one a try!

Nice review. Waiting to try some of the CAO Brazilia Gols I just purchased and will add my review in the near future.

By long burn time what do you mean - an hour?

Re: CAO Criollo

I think this is the best C.A.O. has to offer. A mighty fine smoke in my opinion. Well made and very tasty. The Pato is my favorite of this line.

1-1.5 hours, depending how hard you herf on it. The one tonight took about an hour, but it started to rain and i sucked it down as quick as i could, and put it out a little early.

Had my first last week and $ for $ I'd rather be smoking something else. Of course, I paid $7+ at my B&M.

BTW, my favorite CAO is the MX2.

Re: CAO Criollo

I had one a couple weeks ago and wasnt too impressed. It had a dry peppery taste all the way, on the other hand I thought the Brazilia was pretty decent though..I guess its just personal pref..or I had a bad stick..Who knows..Good review though

Re: CAO Criollo

Nice review Jason.

I have the Pato's in the humit and I gave them a 7 or 8 out of 10. While I didn't think the flavor was excellent, it was very good and, as always, the quality was typical CAO, very good.

Re: CAO Criollo

I've been wanting to givve these a try. I've been mostly staying with the Italia and Brazilia line lately and need to try something new. This review might just give me that push I was looking for. Thanks!

Re: CAO Criollo

Haven't had this one yet.
I know I like CAO's Brazilia line.
I suppose I have to add the Criollo's to the ever growing list of "must try".
