Rp Sungrown Review

So today I decided to light up a Rp Sungrown.
This is a cigar that I had not tried before, although I have several sitting in my humi.

The pre-light draw was a little tight, so i played with it a little and it loosened up.

Upon lighting this cigar, I noticed a slight spiciness...a good spicy... not overpowering.

Im not going to break this into thirds... because to me... the taste stayed fairly consistent throughout.

The burn was nice and even, with a good construction.

Overall... I thought this was a good cigar.... but overall I felt that it offered nothing special, new, or really exciting.

I would rate this Cigar a 6/10 overall.

I know this isnt the best review... but overall... there is nothing remarkable to note..... a good average cigar.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I agree! Had one yesterday that was just "OK", also. I much prefer the RP ITC Anniversary, Edge, and '92 selection!

A lot of reviews on this cigar lately. It is very good, the sun grown has great flavor.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I've always been a fan of the RP Sungrown. The 6X60 is packed with flavor.

Yeah, the Edge is a hell of a lot better than the sungrown.

I agree, i had a RP sungrown last week and wasn't blown away at all. It was quite mild and didn't offer much flavor. I will certainly try one again and will def. try other RP's

Re: Rp Sungrown

Thanks for the review, man! I agree with you, the cigar (for me, at least) had a lot of promise, but lacked something to push it over the edge. I had a big stem towards the cap, so I had to yank it out before it really got going.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I've got a few sitting in the humi, haven't tried them yet.

Minutes ago I finished an OWR torp and it was WODERFUL!! Smooth right from the start, burned like a champ, great down to the nub. Bought a fifty box a few months back...Happy I did.

Other than the RP FUMAS that CI had on sale for a buck a stick....I've liked everything from Rocky.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I found one of these in my humi that had been hiding. It was from a bundle of seconds that I think I got at least 2 years ago. The cello was nice and yellow! Very nice smoke. I need to trick myself into hiding some more.

Re: Rp Sungrown

Thanks for the review - as we know, many different tastes on the site but it helps to learn yet another take on another cigar that hasn't seen alot of smoke yet. One of the RP's I haven't tried but will give it a try - even though it doesn't seem to blow anyone away - it still seems like a doable 'gar. Appreciate the review.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I bought a box of the RP Sun Grown Torpedos; smoked a few here/there. They definately need a little Humi time. Once they settle down, I found them to be a good cigar for the price. I ended up smoking or handing out all of them (damn drunk Seahawks super bowl party) before they got about a year of age, but it seems that the longer they sit, the better they get.

Re: Rp Sungrown

I think that they're just OK.
I first tried them after reading so many positive ravings about these cigars. I let some sit for a few months and those were a little better.
I don't know if I expected too much but, just not to my taste.
Those little perfectos are pretty, though.
