Cusano 18 Maduro Robusto Review
My local b/m got some in recently. I had them rest for a few days and tried my first one today at lunch. $4.40 for the robusto 5x50. Usually I am a toro smoker, but their toro is 6.5x46, not a size I would usually go with.
The cigar is very well constructed with an even brown wrapper. No blotches or discoloration to speak of. The cigar seems to have a loose roll, feels very light and spongy for the size.
Nice cap cut very well. I did not see a trace of the maduro leave that they said they are using for the filler. Some very light, almost white tobacco was in the roll.
On lighting there is a nice maduro flavor, just a bit peppery. While smoking down the flavor does change to the milder side. The burn was wonderful, no problems and held on to a long ash.
All and all definately more of a kick than the regular 18, but you would expect that being a maduro. Had some similarity to the C10 robusto, but the flavor seemed to almost die out.
For the price of a mid $4 smoke their are plenty of richer maduros out there, SLR, Sancho and punch rothchild that you can get cheaper. If you are a smoker of mild cigars and want to burn something with a darker wrapper then this might be a stick for you.
