Padron 1926 and Blanton's pair well

Friday evening I got together with BOTL and fellow Club Stogie simian (IvoryTower) and we toked some fine stogies.

I started with a Camacho El Legend-Ario and he a Gurkha Legend. The new Camacho smoke is big and tasty and the Gurkha is an all around great smoke. We paired these smokes with an Eberle 1999 Reserve Cab.

Then we went to a Padron 1926 Serie Anniversary. Dy-no-mite! "And that's all I have to say about that."

The annis paired well with a Blanton's single barrel bourbon. We ended the evening with a Camacho Liberty 2003, a great cigar but a tough act to follow (Padron).

The Padron held a good ash

This is what happens when you are not watching your ash

Anybody have stories about good pairings of cigars and wine or cigars and spirits?

The Doc

Is that Blanton's in that brandy snifter? Sacrilege...

PS - Best bourbon made...

Re: Padron 1926 and Blanton's pair well

What we learned was: Save your Padron 1926 maduros for the last smoke.

Also: Don't linger too long over your bourbon while cigar is in use. (see picture on original post.)

Plus: For some reason, there is a surprising similarity between Blanton's bourbon and XO cognac.

Great night, great smokes - thanks, Doc!
