Butera Royal Vintage Review
Here's a review of a cigar that's under the radar. It's by a pipe tobacco maker Michael Butera. My tobacconist gave me a free one, and I liked the first free one so I bought another to try in a different size.
Size 4.5 x 50 Shape: Bravo Corto (Corona) Wrapper: CT Construction: Smooth light brown wrapper with very few veins. It looks very attractive. The draw was a little tight for me at first, but the draw opened up as the cigar burned. 9/10 Burn: While the wind made the cigar burn a uneven, the burn corrected itself to a straight burn after a while. 9/10 Taste: Prelight draw was toast. The first third tasted like buttered toast with a little bit of pepper and honey sweetness alternating with one another. Into the second third the buttered toast flavor remained, but the sweetness died down and the pepper intensified. The final third lost the pepper, but the buttered toast flavor became stronger and a little bit of milkiness appeared. All the way through the cigar was very smooth. This is a mild cigar, but the flavors were not faint at all. Very tasty. 10/10 Overall: 28/30 Very tasty cigar. It's definitely something I'll keep getting because I like most flavor profiles. Strangely, I think this cigar would be good with a little bit of milk. ![]() |

Re: Butera Royal Vintage
Nice review. I'm not personally a huge conn wrapper fan, but this sounds like a nice breakfast smoke.

Re: Butera Royal Vintage
It's a very underrated mild cigar in my book. Good review, and yes, it's a great breakfast cigar.

Re: Butera Royal Vintage
Just smoked a Royal Vintage Bravo Corto and was thinking of doing a review but up popped this review so:
I've been looking off and on for a nice smooth tasting cigar to take the edge off of the full bodied beasts that I usually smoke. Have fired a couple of these up and found them quite nice. Well constructed, good draw and burn with a smooth buttery taste with a touch of wood. I picked them up as singles for a little over $7 a pop....a bit to pricey for my taste. Did notice a few sites on the web that have them under $90 for a box of 20. My take on them is a |

Re: Butera Royal Vintage
Just got through smoking a Butera Bravo Corto. I agree with the reviewers above. The cigar starts off with a little pepper which quickly faded. The rest of the cigar was nice and toasty and yes, Butera is buttery. Great mild relaxing cigar. I accompanied the cigar with a coke over tons of ice and it was perfect to end a hot day. If you like RP Vintage 90/92 and the Chateau Real you will like this Butera and should try this cigar.

Re: Butera Royal Vintage
These have always been one of my favorite mild-medium cigars when I can find them. I'm not sure but, aren't these made in the OK Cigar Factory DR?
