Bahia 1998 Vintage Epicure Collection Review

This is a cigar that I truly have grown to love, but very rarely find anyone else who has tried em.

I picked a box up on clearance at Famous a couple years ago, and, on the good advice of a nice ape, moved them out of the original wood boxes.

The evening was just right for a hot tub, a few drop tops, and a Bahia. The flavor is somewhat signature summer to me, as it has just a hint of peach, and thus pairs absolutely magically with Blantons bourbon. Unfortunately, I had nary, but a Drop Top was a decent malty match.

Construction was a 9; there was one notable vein, but it burned through just fine, not a single relight or touchup.

First 1/3: Deceptively light flavor, fruity, with a touch of vintage mustiness.

Re: Bahia 1998 Vintage Epicure Collection

The second of the cigar really builds up to a full bodied profile, with lots of creamy smoke, and more vintage flavor, less fruit. Burn is cool and straight as an arrow. Ash on the cigar falls in essentially every 2". For a toro, I really couldn't ask for too much more.

Didn't nub it, but that is normal, as I normally run out of time before I run out of smoke.

Overall Rating: 9.1/10 (is this the Mr Ed scale?)

A good eve in the tub.

Here's the final set of photos:
