CAO Black Storm Review

I just finished a CAO Black Storm (robusto size). It was 5 x 50. It comes wrapped in cedar with a pretty black ribbon on the end (nice presentation). The wrapper looked really smooth and had a dark woody color to it. It had a huge cedar prelit aroma. The draw was tight, but did loosen up as it burned. The very first post-light flavor were vanilla. This flavor persisted about halfway through, when a smooth, woody flavor took over. I also detected hints of cinnamon and some pronounced nuttiness now and then. I really enjoyed this one. It was very smooth and mild. I never noticed any nicotine kick. This is my first experience with vanilla and cinnamon flavors from a cigar. I did have a weird burn at the beginning though. The wrapper burned in one spot about 1 mm wide by 1 cm long shortly after lighting. What causes this? No other problems to speak of. Will definitely smoke this one again. On a 10 point scale.....I'd give it a solid 8.5 I didn't really break it down because I enjoy a 10 point scale. I don't see much sense it docking a cigar points because of appearance.

Thanks I just pulled the trigger on CI Daily Joe For 10 of these at $29. Good to know they aren't half bad. Main reson was I think this is the one that put CAO on the playing field with the big boys.....

Thanks for the great review. I really like this stick except I have had the longer churchill ones. If you like this and like maduro try the CAO Black VR it's kick-ass. I am currently out or I'd send you one.lol

Thanx for the recommendation...I think my B&M carry the Black VR. I'll check them out.

I have always liked the Blacks, but the VR is such a step up it's not even funny.
