Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto Review

I received this cigar from a bomb dropped on me by ca21455 (http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=168068) .

First, the appearance of the cigar is amazing. The cigar is a black as night, and the wrapper is nice and oily. The cigar had a nice tight feel, full of good leaf.

">

">

">

As you can see from the pictures, this cigar was too good to waite for. The package was sent out last Wednesday, and because of the 4th of July, it was not able to be delivered until Monday. The cigars were packaged in one of the heavy zip-locked baggies with 5 sections. I think the heat from the shipping increased the humidity in the bags.

Instead of being smart and letting the SFO rest in my coolidor for 2 months, I just had to smoke it now. As a result, the cigar tunneled the entire time, and this was the result:

">

">

">

Overall:

The cigar tasted great. Nice heavy smoke, and just enough spice for me. The spice burned my nose at first, but was all worth it. Even though the cigar had a bad burn, I am looking forward to ordering at least a 5 pack of the SFO's and letting them rest for awhile. This is the kind of cigar I love- feel, taste, construction, everything.

Re: Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto

I bought a sampler of the TSFOB. Two each of the robusto, torp and toro. The flavor was great but I had similar burn problems with them all. I did smoke one right off the truck but waited a month or two to go through the others. I store my cigars at 68 degrees and 65% humidity. I really enjoyed the cigars but the constant attention required will probably keep me from buying more.

I think I should have tried dry boxing for a couple of days to see if the wrapper would dry out a bit. The wrapper just couldn't keep up and I think if the wrapper's were drier, the problem might be solved.

Re: Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto

I've found that the SF need touch ups once and a while. It never really bothers me though as they have become my favorite smoke since I first tried one earlier this year. Just had my first twist yesterday and it was awesome! Great review.

Great review. I'll have to order some of them as I like the other taboo lines.

They never have lasted 6 months. They do get even better with age. They are usually great off the truck as soon as I get them.

Great price with your CS coupons.

Re: Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto

I tried one of these (in the 6x50) for the first time tonight and this review is spot on. The parts of the cigar that did burn properly tasted great, but the burn problems were terrible and I had to ditch it with probably 4" left. Gonna let the others rest for a good long time as the wrappers seem to be really moist. Also didn't help that the draw was pretty loose, which I'm sure contributed to the tunneling.

Re: Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto

I'm smoking a SFO toro size right now. About 2 inches into it so far and tastes like i'm smoking chewing tobacco that was sprayed with perfume,WTF? I recieved this sampler about a week ago and the other cigars I've smoked so far have been pretty good, but I was most looking foreward to smoking this SFO. Has anyone else experienced this wired chewing tobacco/perfume taste? No burn issues, just tastes like .

Re: Taboo Special Forces Orginal Robusto

I love Taboo cigars. I've smoked probably 8-10 worth of a combiniation of SFO, HSG, and EBII. I've yet to smoke one that didn't require touch ups though. I figured that the first ones were due to being young, but I've recently smoked some that have rested for over 5 months and they still have all the same burn problems.
