Diamond Crown Maximus Toro #4 Review

I’m still pretty new at reviewing cigars so I’ll try to do this one justice.

I bought this cigar about a month ago specifically for today (my 30th birthday). So I moved out to my patio, and...

Construction/Prelight
This is a flawless looking cigar. There are no veins, and it feels great, firm with a little give. The band on it is beautiful. I cut it and tested the prelight draw which was excellent

First Third
The cigar produces a lot of smoke, and some sweet flavors. It burns very evenly and creates a firm (about 2”) light grey ash (almost white). I was impressed with the appearance of the ash. It was very dense looking, it almost appeared to be solid.

Second Third
The sweetness is starting to give way to a little spiciness, not too much, just enough to be noticed. As the sweetness fades completely I begin to notice some nuttiness.

Finish
It starts to get creamy with the nuttiness remaining. I smoked this one down to the nub, and the smoke only got hot as I approached the end. It started to burn a little unevenly towards the end but it corrected itself.

Final Thoughts
I can’t say much more than I loved this cigar! If it weren’t for the high price tag ($15) this could easily be an everyday smoke.

Happy Birthday

And, an excellent choice of a birthday smoke. Those are some of my favorite sticks, even better than some Opus X in my opinion, and much easier to find.

I'm always impressed with the quality and consistency of DCM. Just an excellent solid-tasting, well burning stick which I have a hard time letting sit for long in my humidor.

Thanks for the review.
