Another 5 Vegas Series A, but w/pics. Review

I did a search of reviews for the 5 Vegas Series "A", and I found several reviews. I realize I am not the first to write a review on this stick, but everyone has an opinion, and here is mine.

I have to let the cat outta the bag at the beginning, and say that I loved this cigar. From the time I pulled it out of my Vinotemp, until I put it out, it was a great smoking experience. This was my first 5 Vegas Series "A" and was given to me by DMK, a CS BOTL.

I smoked the Archetype size, 6.0 x 50. Let me tell you, this is one fine looking stick. All the way from the beautiful maduro wrapper and cedar sleeve, to the expensive looking band. There was definately attraction there. It had a great aroma to it just after I pulled the celo off. It was easily lit, and the draw was perfect.

This was a very rich and complex cigar, full bodied. I can't really put my finger on all of the flavors, but there was an overwhelming chocolate taste. It was also very consistent, and burned very evenly. The draw stayed perfect, and this baby was a slow burner.

I took my time with this gar, as I was unwinding from a long day. I enjoyed it for almost a hour and a half, before I could feel the heat under my fingers. As you can see, smoked this beaut to the nub. I was very impressed, and quite frankly, in love with this smoke. I have already made a visit to the devil site to get my hands on a box.

Scores:

Construction / Appearance: 10/10
Taste: 9/10
Value: (around $5/per) 8/10
Overall smoking experience: 10/10

Nice review, Bruzee. I love the 'A'.

Watch those Costa Rican Maduro wrappers in colder temperatures, though (if smoking outside). They pop and crack like stepping on thin ice. I love to smoke those with a good cup of joe because of the hint of chocolate you described.

This is true! I had one this winter and was unimpressed bec of bad burn and weird noises. I will have to try another soon and see if warmer weather makes a difference.

I have had 6 out of 10 split on me in really hot weather. It could be my fault (going from 65/65 to 90 degrees too quick). It still tasted pretty good, anyone else have them split in the heat?

Very nice review. Those are very good sticks, especially considering they can be had for about $2 each from the Devil

Great review! I have found the Archetype that you reviewed to be the best. I have also ordered the Apoclypse I believe. It is a 58 RG. Taste is a bit different. Both are good though.
