Notes on: Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur 1066 King Arthur
Notes on: Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur 1066 King Arthur
Construction: Honduras Handmade Ring: 45 Length: 6.25" Wrapper: Camaroon The following are just brief notes that I jotted down whilst smoking the cigar. Please bear with my format. Hope you find it informative Appearance: Impeccable construction. Uniform color. Silky rich brown. Slightly oily. Firm to the touch. Spider-web of veins, though veins were small in size. Pre-light: Cut was ugly, perhaps due to the dryness of the cigar. Very smooth and light draw. Earthy taste with peppery undertones. Sweet, complex aroma from wrapper. A slightly salty taste lingered in my mouth. Post-light: Mild mild mild. Light draw allowed for copious amounts of creamy smoke. Very smooth. A toasty beginning. Flavour wasn’t as complex as I thought. Earthy notes definitely has its presence throughout the smoke. Slightly sweet aftertaste. Mid-smoke. Cigar started to build strength. Spicy notes are more noticeable. Reminded me of roasted nuts. Smokey aftertaste. A little harsh towards the end. Firm, flaky, light grey ash, held on for a long time. Perfect burn. No correction required. Stopped 1 ½ inches from the end. Hungry. Others: Smoking experience brought down by poor cut. Could spend more time in the humidor. Not the best smoke I’ve had but definitely recommended. Goes well with coffee.

I've had two of these and enjoyed them immensely. I used a punch cutter, at an angle. I smoked them both down to about 1-1/2 inches.
