Te-Amo World Selection Honduran Review
This was recommended by my local B&M as a little spicier than the ones I've been having so far and so I fired it up today to try it out
I think it was the Robusto size but was probably about 54 RG and 5-6 inches long. Wrapper was pretty veiny and it felt kind of light for a cigar that big. Looking at the foot the tobacco was not packed super tight. Cut nice and started toasting the foot. Took a long time to get going properly as I'm using a s****y bic while waiting for a better lighter. First few draws were really open, confirming my suspicions of a loosely packed stick, especially since it is probably about 70& humidity here. The first inch was all pepper, much spicier than the Macanudo I had yesterday which was also recommended as a spicy cigar. First 1/3 was pretty much just pepper to my noob taste buds, not really any other flavors, but it was nice and tasty. Second 1/3 it started to get some earthy flavors mingling with the pepper and get a little sweeter. Last 1/3 mostly earthy now with not too much pepper, started to get a little bitter too so I put it down with about 1 1/2 inches left. Also started to get that mouth coating feel which I'm not sure about, could be this particular cigar or just that it was bigger and stronger than most of my other smokes. Cigar had lots of smoke all the way through even though the draw was really loose. Burn was good even though it was humid out and it had a nice finish. I would probably give it about 7/10, was pretty good especially considering the conditions but would maybe not smoke it again. I'll definitely be looking for something similar but a bit better in the future. Any suggestions from you knowledgeable BOTLs? Last edited by curtismayhem; 07-22-2008 at 07:00 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

Re: Te-Amo World Selection Honduran
Someone recommended a Macanudo as spicy? I've always heard them referred as mild. Here's some good noob cigars: 5 Vegas Gold and 5 Vegas Classic. They're both great cigars and can be had really cheap. Try some Arturo Fuente stuff; it's not too expensive even for some of the special lines. A Hemingway short story normally runs around $5. That's a great quality smoke.

Re: Te-Amo World Selection Honduran
Well I asked him if there were any mild smokes that had a little spice to them. I'm new to smoking and can't quite handle some of the fuller bodied ones. I've heard the 5 Vegas recommended lots on these boards I just can't find them anywhere.

Just a heads up, the CI (Cigar International) website has 5 packs of 5 Vegas so you can try them without committing to an entire box first. I think they were around 3 bucks a stick the last time I checked.

Re: Te-Amo World Selection Honduran
I don't think CI is listed in the Companies that Ship to Canada thread so I'm kind of wary about trying it.
