Anejo #77 The Shark Review

My first review here . Construction - Rich dark and oily with a satin like sheen to it , beautiful , but when I remove the red band at the foot there's a small whole although it had no effect on the smoke . Pre-light , I clipped it and check the draw - no problem - I get a sweet taste that I can't really put words to , probably has to do with the wrapper aging in cognac barrels , this sweetness lasted for the whole smoke - and tastes great . I toast the foot and light it up - a little difficult to light but I get it going - I notice that the burn is quicker at the corners (it being box pressed) than on the flat sides , the cigar burned like this until it got passed the square part and then evened out . Great rich tobacco flavor , never any harshness or bitterness , this is one powerful cigar , smoked it after a meal and it still sent me for a loop . Smoked it all the way down to about an inch , when my fingers got hot . Lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes . Only lit it once , never had to re-light . If I see them at retail I would defintely buy again , but I would not pay double retail . If you can get one , get it . This was my first Anejo , I've got a few other sizes to try yet - #48 , #49 and #55 .

Great review. I have a review on this cigar somewhere in the forum.

Great cigar and a great review. These are one of the best.

Re: Anejo #77 The Shark

I just bought 6 today from my local B&M ($12.95 each less 10%) - they are the shark size. Can't wait to try one and stick the other 5 aside in the humi to age them. Thanks to all who have shared their experience with this cigar - that is what pushed me to try something new!

Great review, makes me want to go out n buy one.. unfortunately, I doubt I could get one from my B&M, as I'm not an established customer there yet, except with one guy, who's cool. Besides, I ain't got the $$ flow for it... but you make it sound amazing.. Great review!

I don't think I can take it anymore. I'm gonna have to find me some to try out.

Re: Anejo #77 The Shark

I've got a couple coming next week. I know I should put them back for awhile, but it's not going to happen.

Re: Anejo #77 The Shark

Had my first "shark" tonight from 2005. I have had a few #46s but this was definitely a new experience for me.

Razor straight burn and perfect draw highlighted an almost molasses-like flavor. I did not want this cigar to end but when it did, it packed a HUGE punch. Great cigar.

Re: Anejo #77 The Shark

I absolutely love these. A nice mellow sweetness, perfect burn, and about as white an ash as I've ever seen on a cigar. A nubber for sure! Glad you enjoyed yours. I've got a few others from the series as well, and I can't wait for the chance to try them out.
