Reo by Rocky Patel Review

I got five of these in a bundle from a CigarBid lot that included five each of Vibe, Reo, Vintage 1990 and Vintage 1992.

First impressions
I tried one of these after letting it rest for a week. It was an unremarkable smoke. After another week or so I pulled a second one out. My experience was quite different.

The construction is solid. The cigar has a smooth, medium-brown wrapper, box pressed with a wide label that slides off easily. It lights easily and has a nice, smooth draw, and it holds ash well. This is about where the pluses end.

This cigar was harsh without any discernible flavors. The smoke was extremely irritating, and the smell was unpleasant. I was tempted to throw the thing out the window about halfway through. It was a complete dog rocket. Never again. I would turn these down if somebody offered me a box for free.

I have to agree with you. I had a very bad experience with this stick too...

Maybe it's just me and don't take this to heart but the Reo and Vibe both look to me as cheap cigars that rocky just threw together in order to put yet another brand in the market. I've not tried either thats just how I see them.

Haven't had the Reo, and now never will, but was also totally unimpressed with the Vibe.

Now the R4 is another story!

These are produced by EO Brands not Rocky. The title of this thread should really be REO by EO Brands aka: United Tobacco. RP only helped in the blending of the REO and the Vibe has nothing to do with RP at all. They were blended by his blender, Jose Fuego.

I am not a big fan of the Vibe but I love the REO. If they are a little too wet, they are harsh and not good. Store them in the low 60's and let anything you get from CI and cbid to rest at least two weeks before trying. One week in a drybox. Makes all the difference.

Radioman,

This is taken from CBID

You’re in for a real treat with Vibe Corojo by Rocky Patel. This tasty handmade employs a silky, but thick Corojo wrapper from Honduras that’s super-smooth, vein-free and shining with oils. This choice leaf cloaks a well-aged blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran long-leaf tobaccos to present a complex smoke, to say the least. Filled with rich, earthy undertones, the Vibe gradually gains intensity throughout the slow burn, developing an enjoyable sweetness on the aftertaste along the way. The finish is long and satisfying, ending a delicious, well-balanced cigar that’s worthy of every day leisure.
If its not affiliated with Rocky, they sure are misleading in their ad. EO's website doesn't even mention the Vibe.

Re: Reo by Rocky Patel

They are made in Rocky's factory but Jose Fuego did the blending. Like all of Rocky's cigars. You have me wondering if these two have anything to do with United anymore. Maybe they sold the brands to Rocky to focus on the 601's and Pepin. If so, I don't blame them.
