Funny review! I agree with what the others say about not being a beginner smoke. The Onyx Reserves are a good place to start. After you try many other sticks you may also come across some others that have the "ass whif". I have noticed some that have a somewhat unpleasant smell (mostly aged maduros). I still came back to them after I had tried more, and I was pleasantly surprised that the smell didn't = bad taste.
As far as the burn problems go, keep the humidity closer to 65% for the maduros and you will be much happier.

Good luck on trying new sticks, and may heaven help you now that you found Cbid!

Funny review. Unfortunate outcome for you, considering that I've had nothing but great luck with CAO being consistent smokes. The Mx2's, my opinion, have a great flavor and like everyone has mentioned - you may have to develop your palate so you can discern the nuances of stronger cigars.

I had a CAO CX2 at new years and i wasn't too impressed. It tasted really really mild to me. Not much flavor, may have been the booze, but mine was really really mild. Maybe it just be my new found biased towards more flavorfull and full bodied cigars. It was Okay, would rather it have been a petie corona instead of a Robusto. I don't i just got kind of bored with it.

The MX2 is one of my fav cigars I would have to agree with the majority here. Work your way up to it, and then give it another try. I am postive no 2 cigars taste a like even if they have the same label on it. Now after all this reading on the MX2 I'll have to find a dry stop to go smoke one!

I had one fo these on Boxing Day and I thought it was one of the worst cigars I've smoked. It had burn problems and the flavour? was flat. It started out blah and never improved. I enjoy strong cigars like The Chisel, Partagas shorts and Bolivar Belicosos Finos, so I know it wasn't too strong for me. It is just a flavour profile I don't like. The neat thing about cigars is the search for your perfect every day cigar. So keep on trying different ones , you'll find what you are looking for eventually.

I would concur, though they seem to need some age before they draw properly. I would add the Sancho Panza Double Maduro to the list, and also sugest scoring few cheap fivers of the bundled stuff (El Mejor Espresso & Nestor Reserve for example) on C-bid. Finally, you may want to peruse "Top 25" for some overall impressions of various maduros.

I have to agree with this statement, i loved the first 2 MX2s i smoked, but that was about 1 month after i started smoking...
i had one the other day and i didnt like it at all.
Burn problems aside, the flavor just wasnt there. I found it mild and one-dimensional. There are much better maduros out there (at lower prices too) Oliva G series comes to mind...

Re: Review: CAO MX2 Robusto by a simpleton.

i must admit to enjoying the mx2 as well.

now as far as the odor:

since most guys tend to root in their nether regions (at least more than women), perhaps if you curtail that - oh so comfortable preoccupation - just prior to smoking...
