Padron 1964 Exclusivo Maduro Review

So I had a great time this past weekend. I headed up north to a friends cabin to have a weekend in the woods. I brought along a couple of friends for the firepit that night. One of them was my first Padron 1926. Here are my impressions
  • Construction 9/10: I must say that it looked just great. The box press is something that untill now I would think almost impossible. It looked great. The maduro wrapper had me drooling.
  • Draw/ Performance 10/10: This was the best performing cigar that I have ever had. No need to relight, no need to purge, striaght draw all the way after a little buzz cut. The prelight draw was very woody. I couldn't wait to light this puppy up
  • Flavour 8/10: This cigar was never harsh. It started smooth and was balanced to the end. I am really starting to enjoy the Nicaraguan Tabbacco flavour. I very much preffer it over a DR taste. This only got an 8 because there wasn't too much that stood out. A great earth/ woody flavour yes but I wanted some complex spice. I found that lacking. I did however very much enjoy the smoothness that was deliverd. Interesting to have the balance without the bite that an aged Cuban would bring.
  • Value 8/10: Yes this is an expensive cigar at around $10 but it was worth it. I also got a great deal from taboo (when they have them in stock).
Overall 9/10: I am a fan. I think that the Padron's are making some great Nic Puros and I can't wait to try the 1926. I will let you know what I think

My #1 cigar. Always in the mood for me and would smoke them everyday if the budget allowed.
