Anejo Reserva No.50 Review

I picked up a few different sizes recently figuring to see what all the excitement was about. Let them set for about 10 days and finally decided to give one a try last night during MNF. My selection was the robusto.

Hefty: Check
Pre-light draw: Bitter chocolate and um cognac
Burn: some tunneling past the halfway mark
Aroma: nothing special
Draw: too loose. a couple of times I choked on accidental inhaled smoke, the bane of most NC's in my book
Buzz: first half was pretty nice but that was about it. No real intensification
Taste: Monochromatic, more harsh than an equally fresh cuban.
Final verdict: thumbs down. NBD

Lip Orgasm rating:

1 and 1/2 Lip Orgasms out of 5

OH OH. Thats not good !

you definately need to try another one. You had to get a bad one. These are a great cigar for a Non Cuban. They are usually very smooth and taste like chocolate coffee.

You need to have another one. Dont let this one be your only one that forms your opinion of this cigar.

Re: Anejo Reserva No.50

maybe too young. also being a big fat robusto loosely rolled meant smoke overload - when you can't regulate the smoke and end up breathlessly exhaling to get the rest out before inhaling a little smoke and getting all verklempted (choked up). I am not trying this batch again for a year. I'll go to these NEXT Xmas. Thanks for the tip about not quitting. I want to believe.

Maybe it was too dry. I kept these in my 60-65% humi. Hmmm.
