Graycliff Review

I was gifted one of these by rjs at LOLH II, Thanks Rob. I do not know the model, it was about 6" by 50 or 52 ring guage. The BEST non-ISOM that I have ever smoked and in the top 5 of all time. Pure decadence is the only way to describe it. Medium to full bidied with a marvelous sweetness. A truly great cigar. I have heard that they are expensive, but hang the cost. I want more of these!!! Steve

RE: Graycliff

I agree, a marvelous cigar, sounds like you had a Pirate, they are on sale at Bonita Smoke shop just south of me right now. I have no affiliation with them, I just like good cigars.

RE: Graycliff

Rob gave me one a while back, and I agree...fantastic! I think that they were a special blend, though, as Rob visited the Graycliff not long ago, and I think they rolled them special for him. I'll ask Rob and let you know.

RE: Graycliff

Steve,

Graycliff has 3 product lines. The original Graycliff cigar which has a red band. The second, more full bodied line is the Professionale, which has a blue band and has been out for a couple of years. The newest edition from Graycliff is the Cristale line. The Cristales have even more flavor yet are very smooth.

You smokeed a PGX from the professionale line. The cigar was right out of a production box, not a special blend as jsl surmised. (I wish I had a special blend from these guys. LOL)

In 2001, the PGX was voted Cigar of the Year in Europe. Of the final 6 cigars in the blind tasting, 4 were Havanas. From what I recall, the judges are all European tobacconists. (As opposed to an editorial board who all work for the same boss.)

When I attended the RTDA show with Paul, Graycliff gave us samples of the new Cristale line. The Cristale was the best cigar, old or new, that I tried at the show. I'm glad you enjoyed the smoke. Do you want to split a box?

These sound like something we should order up. Or get
some boxes for LOLH III.

RE: Graycliff

Agreed Steve, VERY nice smokes! Rob gifted me one (different size) as well. I was impressed to say the least. Heck it even won the longest ash contest at "the other guys" herf :+

I can't wait to find the right time to smoke the white label ones. :9

RE: Graycliff

Wayne,

I'm glad you liked the Graycliff. You also had a PGX, a blue band. I'll send you one of the Cristales to try.

Thanks for the Puros Indios Maxima reservas and the Viejos. I'm looking forward to trying them.

RE: Graycliff

A friend that I work with is from the Bahamas and went to school with the owners son. So whenever he goes back to visit his family he always stops by Graycliff and visits his friend and of course picks up some cigars. He recently just gifted me a Cristale (sp?). I haven't smoked it yet but look forward to trying it based on the reviews here.
