Butera Royal Vintage Dorado 652 Review

Butera Royal Vintage Dorado 652
Country of Origin: Dominican Republic
Flavor: Medium
Wrapper: USA/Connecticut
Filler: Dominican

wisconsin evening, winter storm in progress, commute home. started the truck, scraped the windows, re-entered the truck. as the vehicle warmed, i pulled out the chosen cigar, snipped the cap and toasted the foot.

with the snow a-blowin’, the truck windows cracked open, and the heat blastin’, I started the slow commute home.

the butera royal vintage dorado 652 has a tan colored wrapper, a slightly spongy feel, and a “loose” pre-light draw. (i prefer a more firm draw).

the first third had a “airy” draw that allowed lots of smoke, but did not have an abundance of depth of flavor. the butera kept a clean burn even with the air flow from the opened truck windows.

about half-way through the cigar (20 minutes) i stopped at the local b&m, to check for anything new. the owner offered me the last "af king b" – which i purchased, along with a couple of cao mx2’s. then it was back to the commute through the frozen tundra.

the second half retained the loose, airy draw of the first half – but the butera developed flavor, buttery with a bit of spice on the tongue.

i probably wouldn’t by a box of butera royal vintage, but i’ll keep a couple in the humi as a light-medium alternative for when that mood arises.

Rating: 6.75 out of 10.

Re: Butera Royal Vintage Dorado 652

Nice review - I keep these around for my Golf Course smoke - just when I want something light and airy - that's a good description -
