Tatuaje Series P Corona Gorda Review

I decided to review the White Label Tatuaje. It's a mixed filler cigar as far as I know. It looks pretty nice when you look at it.

Size: 5 5/8x46
Shape: Corona Gorda
Wrapper: Nicaraguan

Construction: The wrapper is a nice light brown with no prominent veins. The cigar isn't too soft or firm. The draw is very easy with some resistance to tell you that you're actually smoking a cigar. Since this is a mixed filler cigar, the cigar doesn't have a ridiculously long ash and needs to be ashed often. This cigar is well constructed like any Don Pepin cigar. 10/10

Burn: I gave the cigar a bit of a crappy light, but cigar tended to burn fairly evenly without any major problems. There were a few time that the one side would burn more than another, but the cigar would correct its burn. 9/10

Taste: Most of the first third of the cigar was very creamy with a peanut flavor; the peanut flavor would last throughout the cigar. Into the second third a hint of the Pepin pepper would occur occasionally, but the pepper flavor was never strong. The last third had a lemon acidity to it with the peanut and slight pepper. The cigar is tasty but not very complex. I really enjoyed the flavors of the cigar. 10/10

Overall: 29/30

I really enjoyed this cigar. It isn't very expensive, but you get a great cigar. I'll definitely get more of these. The Tatuajes are only reinforcing that I really enjoy Don Pepin cigars a lot. I need to pick up more Tatuajes!

the P Series uses the same filler blend as Havana VI, yes? Is the only difference that the P Series used mixed filler (60% medium, 40% long)??

The price on these is good, like $3 a stick or so and I like the Havana VI a lot.

I got the slightly spicy undertones like you said were not strong, but I never tasted a peanut or nutty flavor. I get lots of natural sweet tobacco flavor. As stated definitely not an overly complex cigar, just a really enjoyable "go to" for me. Everyones taste buds react differently!

I've had a few P's and they don't do much for me. None of the rich "Tat" taste is there. I know they are supposed to be more affordable, but they don't taste like a Tat to me, so I'll pass on these from now on. Just my opinion...
