Don Tomas Sungrown robusto Review

I was digging around in my singles boxes tonight when I came across this one. Had a price tag of $2.90 on it. I don't remember buying it, so I have no idea how long it's been sitting in the cooler. I would say at least 8 or 9 months.

I was surprised by this cigar. Not impressed, but surprised. Not a bad smoke. VERY Honduran flavor; looking up the stats I see it is a Honduran puro and retails for around/under $4 a stick...which means I got it CHEAPER at the B&M!

Alot of Honduran tobacco has a distinct tart earthy flavor to me, especially Honduran wrapper tobacco. Some cigar makers can do good things with Honduran leaf (Plasencia, Camacho) and some Honduran cigars just taste like sour dirt. This Don Tomas SG falls into the first category. Good blend of good Honduran tobacco. Construction-wise it has a good draw, couple of minor burn problems but nothing that isn't fixed by a quick burst of flame from the torch.

All in all, a pretty tasty smoke. Not something I would hoard or stock up on, but at under $3 a stick at the B&M, I may snag a handful of them next time I'm there.

Nice! I like the classico, and I think I've had the sungrown also, but can't remember it right away. I know I have at least one or 2 in the humi, so may pull it out here afterwhile and light it up. Thanks for the Hounduran notes also!

I really like these. I keep a fiver or so in my humi at all times.

Great review for a really flavorful stick!

They're a very decent smoke, especially for the price. I like to give these out to friends who are new to cigars, since they seem to have a good taste.
