Cusano takes down Rocky

First off let me start this thread by first apologizing to rck70. Because I know he is a Rocky whore and being that he turned me on to Cusano 18 Double Connecticut this should be an insult to injury. Well I've never done this before so bare with me. The Cusano 18 is a beautiful constructed stick that has 18-year aged Dominican Olor filler tobaccos so that I read. It has two awesome looking Connecticut wrappers one for the binder and a wrapper leaf. Upon first looking at it one can tell this is going to be a great cigar. The prelit draw give off a slight vanilla taste. Upon lighting I get a flavor that I thought wasn't possible to get from a Connecticut wrapper (being a maduro smoker myself). The hint of creamy vanilla explode in your mouth making you wanting more. The stick builds in flavor throughout the stick giving you satisfying and rewarding flavors that make your tongue dance for joy. Believe me when I tell you that you could nub this one down to a nub and still get these flavors (it's true I've done it). A sound 10/10 for this one and I would recommended it without hesitation to any newbie that would like to try a great light cigar that unlike other light cigars this one has flavor and also at a great price (around 5 dollars a stick). Again let me say that I'm a Maduro man and my favorite cigar is the Rockey Patel Vintage 92 or at least it was. The Cusano 18 Double Connecticut has done something that I thought wasn't possible of a Connecticut leaf, and that is say that it is better then a RP and that it is my favorite with the 92 coming a close second behind. With that my you have long ash and go out and buy some Cusano 18 DC I'm sure you want be disappointed.

Just had to get the word out to some newbies like myself to try this one. Felt it was one of my duties.

How different is it from the Double Connecticut? I tried to smoke a DC and just didn't like it for some reason. I may not have been in the mood for that flavor, so I'll definitely try it again, but I wanted to give that Paired Maduros version a shot, since I love maduro flavor and the Double Connecticut was the most Conecticuty-flavored thing I've smoked...

It's been a while since I've had either, the connie longer than the maduro. But the latest maduro I smoked had a wonderful cedar taste to it that I tend to enjoy; it stayed thru-out the stick for the most part. Burned evenly, smooth draw. I'll try to look for my notes when I have more time to list them.

I am primarily a maduro smoker but I haven't had a good Cusano 18 Paired Maduro yet. I have tried probably 5 or so at different stages of resting and none of them I have been able to finish. That being said, I LOVE the Cusano 18 Double Connecticut - Great flavor, perfect draw, and just all around enjoyable.

Oh this is a maduro? Hmm Scott told me about these and I told em I'm not crazy about the Cusano CT but that was a natural wrapper. Guess I will give one of these a try.

Dennis, read the next round of the YardGar pass, I think this Cusano Ct should be in there as a favorite. I am a Maduro fan as well and like the Cusano Maduro. Picked up some on CI month or so ago

Re: Cusano takes down Rocky

Just picked up a Cusano 18 Paired Maduros. Hopefully this fares better with me than the Double Connecticut (which I'll definitely try again anyway).

I did a review on the Cusano 18 Double Connecticut and gave it a PERFECT 10 last month:
