Macanudo 1968 Toro Review

Quick one here -

I got the three pack of these during the introduction period. I gifted the churchill and robusto away and just got around to the Toro

Long story short, I thought this was excellent!

Much more flavor than the regular old green labels. A bit spicy but very full and rich. I had a couple of burn issues, it went out twice and needed some touch ups but the flavor was great. It had that classic Macanudo smoothness with more flavor.

Construction - 9/10
Burn - 6/10
Flavor - 9/10

Some of you guys might want to give Macanudo another shot.

Great! I justed picked one out of the humi to try it. I had heard some not-so-good things about them, but now some good things.

Could they have been a bit too fresh, so with a little rest they are improving? Would more rest improve that burn issue. I think I'll sit on mine a little bit longer before I try them. Thanks for the update.

I have my three pack resting now. Keep wanting to try them but never get around to it....

on a side note- has anyone else had wrappers burst on them? Two out of my three burst within the first day of humi time.

Re: Macanudo 1968 Toro

I smoked mine last night. It was decent, but underwhelming. I had the issue of keeping the cigar lit, relighting once. The flavors were good, but still on the light side, IMO. I got the 3 pack as well, and will let my other 2 sit for a while...

Re: Macanudo 1968 Toro

I grabbed the toro out of the 3 pack I received today and torched it. First third reminded me of a Punch Gran Puro with a little more Pepin-like spice. Second third fell a little flat but not bad. Final third was pretty darn good. The spice came back and became quite woodsy.

I give it a solid 7. I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for one of these, though.
