Gurkha Legend Torpedo Review
Well I got my first shipment today from cbid...with many more coming. I know that many of fellow members told me to let these babies sit for at least a week. I did take that advice to heart. I got the package that has been shipped in very cold weather and it's worrying me a bit. I show my wife the cigars and she (the critic) was even impressed by the beauty of these cigars. She asks. "when do you plan to try one"? I tell her I plan to let these set for a week. She giggles knowing me and my lack of patience. 3 hours later I have one of these babies cracked open as my wife walks by and laughs. Let it be known I have wanted to try this cigar since I started smoking cigars 6 months ago. Here is the experience...
Prelight: I could tell from just smelling the cigar there was something different about this cigar. Best smelling prelit cigar I have laid my nose on. Eathy, but a hit of something special that I really cant describe other than a wiff of some sort of special beauty.
Construction: Perfect...slightly rough to touch and it looked like some one wrapped it like it was their newborn baby.
Burn: I light the foot with my torch and expect a harsh first puff. Nope...mellow right from the get go. It did try to burn uneven on me for the first third but with mild correction evened out. Im sure that was from my impatience rather than the quality of this fine cigar.
Draw: Not too much not too little. The draw perfect for my taste.
Taste: First third I noticed the taste of the finest tobaccos with a hint of nut and sweet. Second third it became the cigar of champions...an ever so slight hint of bitter to perfectly compliment the sweet. Best I can compare it too is eating sweet and sour chicken. The contrast was perfection. Nuts, hints of spice, touch of bitter and sweet. The final third lost alot of the sweet and bitter as the spices and nut flavors concentrated.
Final analysis: 93/100 The best this inexperienced smoker has tasted. I still am enjoying this cigar on my tongue. The aftertaste is mild and doesn't leave your mouth with that terrible dirty taste that some lesser cigars leave. I bought this in bulk so I got it for about 8 bucks. Worth every penny.
