Padilla 1948 Churchill Review
Padilla 1948 churchill 7x48
Nicaraguan puro Humidor time: about 3 mos Smoking time: about 1 1/2 hours Prelight: an attractive, serial numbered band looks good against the wrapper, which is natural but darker than usual, with some reddish hues. The wrapper looks a bit dry, and there are some visible veins. Aroma is mild tobacco, with some earthiness. The cigar is very firm, but the prelight draw is easy. Burn: perfect. Razor straight to the nub. The very light gray ash is firm, and the cigar ashed only three times throughout the entire smoke. Flavor: toasty pepper at the beginning, but not overly strong. The pepperiness remains throughout the smoke, but it's mild, much more mild than other Don Pepins. The smoke becomes woody by the end of the first third, with occasional sweetness and some spice on the finish, but overall it's fairly mild, particularly for a Pepin. I'd call it medium in body and strength. Finish is relatively clean. There's not a whole lot of complexity to the flavor, and I'd been expecting more oomph, but it's good throughout, all the way to the nub. A very well made, medium bodied cigar, one to enjoy but not one of the great ones.

Good review..... I agree. Good smoke, excellent draw. One of my favorites.
