Padron #3000 Review

Well, this morning, as I was leaving the house, I thought Id dig into my humi and pick out a stick to have today during the morning, before we officially opened for the day ( I usually get to work about an hour before hand, to get some work done, and get ready for the day). My stick of choice was a Padron #3000.
I got to work, cut the end, and pulled out my lighter. Flipped the top of the torch lighter open, and *click* *click* *click*- Damn, no torch.. lighter decided it would quit working... Well, I sure as hell wasn't about to let this cigar go to waste after the reviews Id read of it.. so I jumped into my truck, and used the cigarette lighter that came in the truck.. you know, one of those ones you push in, then wait for it to pop out? Well, it got hot, and I held it to the cigar, and lit half of it, then repeated the procedure. I butchered the lighting of the stogie, thats for sure, but it was lit, nonetheless.

Now on to the actual smoke....
I thought for sure it was gonna burn unevenly, based on the crappy light I got off my car lighter, but I was surprised to see it burn evenly, right from the start. It had awesome billows of greyish smoke, with a coffee and light licorice flavor, with a bit of toasted nuts of some sort mixed in with it. All in all, an AWESOME cigar for the $$, and I loved it. The most fasciinating part of this cigar is that the ash stayed put on the cigar all the way down to the nub... The bummer was that I couldn't smoke as much of it as I wanted, because to smoke the whole thing, I woulda needed a roach clip Great smoke!

Re: Padron #3000

Good review Scott - these are tasty sticks as daily smokes... time permitting I like to start the day with a 2000 or 3000 Maduro myself. Enjoy them whenever you can, and buy a couple cheap backup lighters... I keep at least 2 in the car at all times... I never know when I am going to run out of butane!

Re: Padron #3000

Re: Padron #3000

I just ordered another box, I simply love the 3000's. Been my regular cigar for a year and a half.

A very entertaining review, thanks.. I make it a point as well to have at least 2 torches. The nature of the beast is for it to not light when you most want it to.

Re: Padron #3000

Nice review Scott!

I used to smoke the 3000 quite often, but started to get some that would fishtail or go out on me. After a few boxes with 2-3 bum sticks, I decided to try the 4000...and had no other problems. That was about 3 years ago and I have not gone back to the 3000 since. I may have to give one a try again, as I liked that size.

Re: Padron #3000

I just had one of these at lunch and can now enjoy the rest of my day, even if it is at work. An easy draw, billows of luscious, aromatic smoke, even burn and beautiful ash make this cigar a must for any cigar lover. The taste is lasting and hints of coffee and nut. The price is unbeatable and the experience everlasting. You can't go wrong with one of these and, if you're like me, will have trouble letting it go at the end.

Re: Padron #3000

The Padron 2000 & 3000 are still one of the best buys on the market. I love both of these in Maduro. It is still one of the best buys on cigars on the market!!!

Thumbs up Re: Padron #3000

Great review. Smoked one of these myself for the first time this afternoon and was thinking of reviewing it, but it seems that we both enjoyed the experience. I also have a 4000 that I'm going to try after my wife goes to class tonight. That, a bottle of red....

Once again, great review.

Re: Padron #3000

When I first started smoking cigars I did not like the Padrons but after having a few, I feel that they are a good line all the way through.

If you have the patience, try aging some Padron's for a later date. The best Padron that I've ever smoked was gifted to me by a fellow gorilla. The cigar was aged 5 years and had a flavor profile that was UNBELIEVABLE!!

Take Matt's hint and look up Phil at esmokestack for Padrons, you can't beat Phils prices and he's a good guy.

So right Gregg, I think that same gorilla did the same for me. Age some if you can.

Correctdamundo about Phil, we're gonna make a trip out to see the man this summer.
