Puros Indios Chief Review

I just realized that I never put this review here. I did a copy paste from an old review I have done before. If you EVER wondered, he it is.

Well I did it. I took out one of Puros Indios Chiefs, took the Burns'o'Matic (a REAL torch) to it, and WOW!

Good things Clinton does not smoke these!

Overall construction was pretty good, considering the size. 18" x 68 ring. (1 1/8") I took my punch, and put 4 connecting holes in it.

It was supposed to be a maduro, but was more like a colorado shade. The draw was easy, actually too easy for me. But at least it was not plugged.

After hitting it with the "Burns-o-Matic", I noticed an ever so light grassy or herbal taste. There was very little smoke at this point. It satyed this way for at least the first hour or so.

Into the second hour, the grassy/herbal taste started to grow stronger, and more smoke was forming.

Once into the third hour of this massive, heart pounding, rolled log of tobaco, a nice nutmeg flavor started to arouse. A change I accepted with open arms, I was starting to get bored with this cigar until that point.

SIDE NOTE: every half hour, like clock work, the firm, grey ash would be about an inch and a half, and drop.

Now I'm into the fourth hour of the ever so shirnking giant. I am liking it more and more, because the nutmeg flavor is getting stronger, and now comes a slight peppery taste to boot. Don't forget the ever present grassy/herbal taste hiding out in the back.

Hours five and six, are nothing but smokestack clouds forming all around me, and tasted like I was smoking a big pepper pot.

I feel I was smoking on it too fast towards the end, making the strong pepper taste. Once this thing got down to about 5 inches or so, it got real soft. I tossed it with about 4 inches left. It just wasn't fun any more.

I might add, don't try this cigar while driving, like I did. Sure you can rest it on the steering wheel, (no B.S.) but it will hit the windshield, if your not careful. Let's not forget the STRANGE LOOKS AND POINTS PEOPLE MAKE!!! Smoking said cigar, on HWY's 88 and 49, in NV then CA, with a standard trans. is tough, to say the least.

Would I do it again? You bet! But not alone. I do have two more....

This by far is NOT the best Puros I have had, but if you are a Puros fan, or just scewed up in the head, it is a MUST!

Another SIDE NOTE: AS if this was not enough nicotine, I backed it up with a Partagas 898 Varnished. A much better cigar, by far. And when that one was done, my heart was a racin'.

Grassy? Herbal? You sure this is a cigar you're sending me? Remember Cheech & Chong's "Big Bamboo"?
