Flor De Oliva's. Review

my second review . no pics , sorry.

ill start the FdO gold.
i got a bundle from famous smokes some time ago , and i really enjoy them. smooth, creamy-ish taste, consistant burn, consistant flavor, get better with age. over all, a great budget medium smoke. id say it would make one of my go-to smokes.

now the FdO Maduros..
i got this in a PIF from dccraft (thanks again!). i just finished this , and while it was a consistant smoke , it was bland. flavor was a full tobacco flavor all the way through. consistant burn. it didnt knock my socks off. in my opinion , i wouldnt purchase a bundle unless i was given a hefty cigar budget by the fiance , but i dont see that happening, lol. i prefer the golds.

both were accompanied by cranberry and smirnoff. it may have been this that made me come to the conclusion on the maduro and the fact that ive only had the one. but it is what it is.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

I buy bundles of the Original and really enjoy them. I mainly smoke them as a "yard" cigar but they're a good mild cigar for the price. It's not a very complex cigar but one I like to keep around.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

Try the Original. With some time in the humidor the wrapper develops a sweetness that I like. I know this from smoking them OTT and then after letting them sit a long while. They're always better after 3- 4 more months at home.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

Agree with everyone here - love the FDO Gold's - a cheap smoke that had me a bit timid to try due to the cheap price but only after receiving one in a trade with a CS brother - did I learn how smooth and enjoyable it was. Creamy with just a slight kick to it - somewhere between mild & medium. Going to pick up a box one day for the daily rotational.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

I was always really curious about Flor De Olivas? Are they at all similar to Oliva Serie cigars. I have never seen Flor De Olivas outside of websites and catalogs. Really like all of the Oliva Serie that I have tried.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

On my first FdO Gold, and I am liking it. So far it has been very consistent, with a nice burn, good ash. I think I will keep these around as a go to smoke when I just do not want something fuller (or just cannot decide on something else ), especially considering the price .

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

I prefer the sweetness of the FDO toro with the Sumatra wrapper, but also like the FDO Gold torpedo. Both have nice draw, lots of smoke and I haven't had any construction or burn issues. They do improve with about 6 months in the Humi. I bought a few FDO Maduro torpedos. Smoked one when I got them and the rest with some age. Found them to be very bland. The wrapper was a very pale color. Looked washed out, nothing like a 5 Vegas A or Oliva G maduro. I assumed that was why They lacked taste. Maybe they were out of a bad batch.

They have nothing to do with the Oliva cigars. Different manufacturers.

FDO's are a decent budget smoke. I like the corojo.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

ACtually Flor Da Oliva cigars are The Oliva Family bundle cigar.

Its their value smoke that they use to get consumers to trust them and their quality, in their words not mine.

All long filler, Nic cigars but they are made by Oliva Family yes.

Re: Flor De Oliva's.

Sorry guys!!!!

I read a description of these one time and the person said they shouldn't be confused with the Oliva Cigars makers of the V, O and G. That they were two different company's.

Oops.....my bad.
